So I found out the 2023 model years have removed the dual dimmer control. They combined it into one dimmer.

This sucks for some like me, who really loved the look of the ambient lighting (floor, and cupholders) all the way up, while the dash/instrument panel all the way down so it doesn’t

I know this is something that is little. But it does bug me, especially since the jeeps (wrangler and gladiator) keep getting more expensive, yet you take away options, not cool.

Just to 3:30 and he talks about the dimmer.

Really only worked in a few models and most didn't know how it worked.

This is a cost cutting measure for something 99% of owners set and forgot about but 110% of buyers will complain isn’t there.

Agree. I have two dials but only one does something. The other is a waste

It was an option for certain trims. And those trims haven’t gotten cheaper so why are they taking away options. Doesn’t seem fair.

Most people that own Rubicon’s don’t use their lockers. Should they take that away and keep Rubicon the same price?

Shrinkflation

Could have been a decontenting for the chip shortage and this was the low hanging fruit.

Looks like the cargo/bed light switch is also missing unless they moved it elsewhere.
What the OP posted is out of the Wrangler Manual. Below is out of the 2023 Gladiator Manual.

Correct. I couldn’t get the Manual for the Gladiator to load its pictures.
But both the wrangler and gladiator have had their dual dimmers removed.

I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt on this one. "Shrinkflation" as it's come to be known is more often applicable to potato chips and candy bars. Honestly this just seems like them cutting a feature most people won't notice as a way of offsetting some of the ridiculous inflation. Price has to go up, that's not really optional with the current economic situation. But that inflation doesn't just affect the consumer.

I'd just be happy they aren't charging a subscription for the heated seats- yet.

But who am I to talk, I already got my Gladiator.

My 21 sport s has two dials.I don't have footwell lights but it does adjust the cupholder lights and the front door handle lights. They are not super bright but they are noticeable once you know they are there

My wife's 20 overland has the dual switch and footwell lighting. I can clearly see the small square shaped led cubes under the dash. My 21 Willys also has dual switches and the small square shaped led cubes under the dash, but no footwell lighting. I've wondered if the switch just isn't wired or if the small square cubes are empty. They're not clear so i cant see whats inside. Maybe some day I'll get bored enough to investigate. But the footwells do light up with the door open. Maybe that's a different led. I'll have to check that one out.
