Just wondering if you can order the "full time" four wheel drive on a Willy's. You could on a 2023 Mojave with the rear lockers (Selec Trac) and so, now that the Willy's package has the rear locker, I was wondering. On Rubicons, they call it "Rock Trac" full time four wheel drive.

You can't order this on the Jeep build site (never could) but you can as your dealer orders for you at like 900 bucks (2023). I got it on my 2023 Freedom and personally consider it a requirement due to where I live and the road conditions I have to deal with. I've looked at a bunch like 30 or more of monroney's for 2024 Willy's and have yet to see a Selec Track full time 4WD noted on the window sticker.

Separate - I'm also noticing that I am NOT seeing any ability to order a limited slip diff on the Jeep build site for 2024's. They did have that on the 2023 site. It isn't on units with the rear lockers, but on other models you could order it.

I really don't know why Jeep doesn't market these "nuances" to the basic 4WD system. Basic 4WD can be a real pain for people who live in snowy, mountainous states where, like now, half the roads are snow covered and then the next half a mile down the road is clear pavement. Full time 4WD is a god send in those conditions and very helpful in heavy rain "hydroplane" scenarios also.

SelecTrac is the full time automatic transfer case name for that transfer case in non-Rubicons
For a Rubicon it's still called RockTrac - but it's RockTrac automatic full time.
So that refers to the transfer case itself, nothing to do with axles, differentials, lockers or limited slip.
Before 2024 SelecTrac was an option on most levels of Gladiator (and again, was an option but was called RockTrac automatic full time on Rubicon)

As it appears now, you cannot get that transfer case on anything but the higher end X models - Rubicon or Mojave.
I'll ask my sales guy later, but don't believe even a Mojave fully loaded but below the X level can get it.
ODD, IMO, because I got it on my 22 Overland!
I can't really figure out why they have removed it from the levels below the X versions other than possibly for pure numbers - because the 4xe requires it and they are selling tons of 4xe Wranglers. If you want That automatic full time transfer case in a Wrangler - the 4xe has it standard. You can't get a 4xe without it. (that's one reason we got a 4xe, among others)

This is how it shows up on a 2023 Wrangler Rubicon build sheet - (note they never used the word automatic and so on. Look for "Full Time")

" ODD, IMO, because I got it on my 22 Overland! "

I learned about it on the Ram 1500's. My first 2013 had the basic 4WD just like that vast majority of Gladiators. You spend a lot of time pushing the 4WD full time button off and on depending upon road conditions up here in MT. Then I got a limited slip diff on my 2015 and it helped a lot particularly from a stop on snow, icy conditions. Then I got the auto 4WD on my 2021 and was sold as it's turn it on and forget it. In the summer, I don't turn it on and just do the 2WD.

AND, with so many people with zero 4WD experience buying these things, they don't understand the limitations of regular full time 4WD as in binding axles, wear and tear etc. Regular 4WD, is something you use in a particular way. on Snow/slick, for maybe a mile and then with clear roads for a mile, you really should be clicking it on and off depending upon what surface you are on. Frankly most people are completely unaware of this. They go, HEY I bought a four wheel drive and all my problems are solved....crash...

I'm surprised jeep doesn't actully market and push the full time 4WD's more. I'm like you, it is a very important and not terribly expensive but very valuable safety device...unless maybe you live on the coasts and wqrmth... I know why they must require them on 4XE's with all that torque in the full electric mode. And it's a heck of a lot better "accessory" than the stupid speaker behind the back seats at 600 bucks.

For sure. What will I do with such a speaker?
Already have a BLAST BT speaker - with built-in Alexa.

I walk by the Bose and other ones at Costco for 99 bucks to a couple hundred (Bose) that sound fantastic. I'll just get one of those if I'm desperate for a portable speaker...

When I was looking at them before settling on my High Altitude, I was looking at a Sarge Green Willys in the next town over. It had the full time 4x4. So in 23 Willys did have the option.

No clue about 24s. Call or go to a dealer. they have better vision in their build system.

I'm at dealer now. Only X package. He's also wondering why since they (full time auto 4h) sell very well here.

Another reason I'm glad I bought a 23 at 30% off MSRP... Actually, this is new information if I am not mistaken. Now I'm wondering why?

looking through the ordering guide for the term "trac" left me very confused. It's not an option available with a cost, but the "full time" systems appear under the automatic transmission while the part time (rock-trac part time and command trac) appear under standard equipment.

There's a small chance the full time awd are standard on all automatics now, and a much larger chance there are mistakes in the ordering guide.

And I thought "SelecTrack" was standard for the Gladiator. Until I joined this forum ...

Yes, the standard equipment on Rubicon and Mojave are much higher now. It's actually part of the reason MY24s are functionally price cuts. A 23 Mojave/Rubicon with all the same packages that are STD in a MY24 is about 4k more in MY23.

They make it extra confusing by giving it different names for rubicons and non-rubicons. Command Trac and Rock Trac are standard, Selec Trac and Rock-Trac Full Time are options

Meanwhile on the JL forum - people receiving Rubicon X's with no aux switches. LOL Jeep....
