Is it just a "mode" indicator, or are there cool graphics like in the Dodge Charge/Challenger when switching between AWD and RWD automatically:

I've got one on order as well. Curious if it uses CV's vs typically U-joints. If so what are there changes to the driving dynamics, feel, etc?
The front axle has CV joints. No difference for normal driving, I have not had the Wrangler off-road to see if there is a difference.

Putting it into AWD drive on the fly requires a pull on the floor shifter nothing real dramatic happens. The discussions on how it works, slippage cluches, CVC joints and stuff never really came to a conclusion that it is going to blow up the first time you use it.....jack

Would anyone be willing to take pictures of what they have so I can compare it to what I have??

Picked up a 2021w/ Selec-Trac yesterday. CV’s up front. Clearly haven’t done much with the new beast yet. Drives well. Transfers into 4wd full time easily. No low speed binding and tire scrub when active. Not looking to do serious off-road duty but plenty of rough roads and beach runs.

Also have Anti-spin / LSD; already can tell that is great on wet roads. No spinning inside rear wheel accelerating and turning. Big improvement over test drives in open diff specs.

In New England winters, I’m hopeful the combo is the right option for messy winter roads.

Full time option was big reason I delayed buying off the lot and went through the long wait for a build. Looking forward to getting more miles and a better feel overall.

I've had a lot of Jeeps with the full-time transfer case (and some Eagles with their NP129 (like the NP229 but lacking the 229's low range) and really love 'em. I've never had a Jeep transfer case cause problems or go bad and they are sure-footed as heck with the full-time option.

If I had suspected they were going to do this - it would likely have made my mind up to wait.

Sorry for the necro post but any updates on your thoughts a few months in? Any problems and is it worth it for only wet roads in your opinion?

For wet roads only it would seem like overkill. Trac lock helps to put power down is one side is on a slick surface.

Ended up with a mild snow/ice winter but it was a sure footed combo w/ A/T tires, trac lock, and selec-trac. Very happy with to combo so far.

I forgot about this thread. I drove through Canadian winter with 4h Auto engaged on studded winter tires. It is the best driving winter vehicle I've ever owned. Being able to set it and forget it was awesome. Really no negatives in my mind. If you have winter it's really a must have.

I have a similar transfer case on another truck. Same tech, different make. Combined with proper tires, it makes for the most surefooted winter driver I've ever had.
