I also did the same thing a couple of months ago and found truck loads of unsold 2018 and 2019 Wranglers locally. And I could not help but wonder if the high price of Wranglers was the reason why so many were sitting unsold at dealerships lots. And I can’t help but wonder if that same thing may happen to the very expensive Gladiator. I am not getting one, at least not for now, no need to and I may wait to see if the price goes down or just get a decently priced used one a year down the road.

I know zilch nothing about production but I can’t help but wonder if Jeep will limit its yearly production of the Gladiator to about 75,000 or 100,000 units based solely of how many they think people may actually buy not based on any plant production capability.

There's no way in hell that's true
It's not that it takes only 2.5 minutes to build, but that they roll off the assembly line that quickly once the assembly line is completely full during production. I mean they could roll off that quickly while taking a full year to complete a single 1...

They may have about 25 different lines, all cranking out trucks. And perhaps every 2.5 minutes one completed truck may come out of just one of those 25 lines. I doubt they would have just one single line, just a guess here.

I am not hearing BS I am forming my own opinion based on what I can see. I just went back to Jeep.com and did a 50 mile radius search 2018 Wrangler Unlimited and there are 318 2018 models and 330 2019 models. Over 600 Wrangler Unlimited within a 50 mile radius of a city like Nashville, TN is a sure sign that sales have slowed. When does jeep consider the unit sold? When it leaves the factory or when it rolls off the lot? Of course it is the factory so it takes a while for sluggish retail sales to translate into fewer factory orders since the dealerships are always having to plan months ahead.
Just because the website shows the Jeep “at a dealer” doesn’t mean it’s there. You’d need to look at each one to see if it’s “in transit” or if there’s a window sticker to really know what is available. Sold orders, as in ordered by a customer, are not available but will also show up in your search. Again, 22k JLs were sold in April. What to look for is “days on hand inventory” that is how long it takes to move off a lot when ordered by a dealer. If the JL were in trouble you’d see it in 180 “days on hand” turns. Not saying there’s no deals to be had but it isn’t a catastrophe like, say, Ford Ranger sales or worse the Fiat 124 that spends nearly 140 days on the lot.

I sure would expect that any 2018s are not still in transit. What is the current days of inventory for JL? I couldn't find it when I looked.

Probably sitting because the 4 cyl hybrid engine.,if I were in the market for a JL, I’d have to order 3.6 6 cyl. Dealers are only allowed to order the 2.0

2.5 minutes is not fast at all. That's 24 builds per hour. I am certain this will get faster as they tweak the production line. Just for reference, the Ram 1500 production line pushes nearly 65 trucks per hour with two 10 hour shifts. That's approximately 1300 trucks per day! They also have room to increase that as necessary. Another reference is the Ford F-150 is being built at approximately 80 trucks per hour!!

The Nashville metropolitan statistical area is estimated to have 1.75 million people...600 Jeeps may seem like a lot but based on the number of people in your neighborhood I wouldn’t worry about those lonely unsold Jeeps for long. . .

That's only 2,916 people per JT.

My county has 1 Gladiator for 70,000 people, lol
