Anyone have issues with rubbing AFTER installing the Mopar 2” lift?

I had 285/75R18 Falkens on my stock Overland rims without lift and never experienced any rubbing at all.

Last week I had the dealership install the Mopar 2” lift and Teraflex adjustable front trackbar, now the front tires rub on the lower control arms at full turn.

Has anyone had issues with this before? I’m reaching out to the dealership, since I only got the lift to ensure future bumper/winch upgrades would not cause front tire rubbing—now the lift itself is causing rubbing on relatively skinny tires.

You may want to check if the axle is centered. Not sure it would shift that much, but it is worth checking. If so, then an adjustable track bar might help.

Yeah, they installed an adjustable front trackbar along with the Mopar 2” lift.

Is it possible to get the LCAs put on the wrong side or backward?

Sorry that's all I can come up with. Strange problem.

That size of tire on a stock Oveland wheel? I don’t know but I guess I’m not terribly surprised.

Good eyes, I took the photo with the selfie camera in a convenience store parking lot.

I just got under it, and it looks like they just bent the shield back and never put it back in place.

As an aside, this is the quality work of Justforjeeps.com and their service department at Central Jeep of Norwood, MA.

(not sure why normal photo upload won’t work)

Just out of curiosity, why?

The tire is rated for that width rim, and the tire is only 11.2” wide (34.8” tall), and never rubbed without a lift.

Is there a specific reason you would expect a tire/rim combo like that to rub with a Mopar 2” lift? I am genuinely curious to know.

The stock wheels have a 44mm offset. Most aftermarket rim are 0 offset. Which is equivalent to 1.75” inch wheel spacers.
Things get more complicated with rim width and backspace. But that said. The stock rims have a very large positive offset.

edit: my brain was inverted.

Any resolution to this?

I'm closing to pulling the trigger on a lift but I don't want to:
a) go after market rims
b) use wheel spacers

If the tires rub on the control arms.

I don't rub at all with a 35x12.5" tire on my stock Rubicon/rim and don't want to start, either.
Perhaps I'm good to go since my axles are the "wide" ones.

I second checking if your axle is centered. Do both sides rub or just one? I have slightly wider slightly shorter tires (295/70r18) on my stock overland with no rubbing as well, so lifting it must have moved your axle.

No resolution, tires still rub on the lower control arms at full turn.

I did try wheel spacers, and had an awful experience—took them off.

Mine is the Overland with Overland rims. I have yet to swap out the rims, but it really only makes contact at the last 1-2 degrees of the wheel turn, I’ve just been living with it.

That, and a mysterious ESS failure as soon as I picked up the truck from the dealership post-lift install. Oh, and the service techs swiped my “Performance Parts” badge that came with the kit. None of that has been resolved yet, either.

I am sure I am the outlier, I think most people have better experiences. I ended up pulling the trigger on the lift, after connecting with another forum member with my same build/tires/rims with a Mopar 2” lift that experienced no rubbing at all.

I think if I had an aftermarket kit installed by a non-dealership, they either would have advised me to plan on new rims/spacers before agreeing to do the lift, or they just would have done a better job of checking the geometry of everything before giving me back the truck. The dealership I went to basically refused to even try to check the geometry (I have an adjustable front track bar installed as well), but advised spacers (illegal in my state) before telling me my shift points and tire diameter were incorrect (total lie) and just tried to sell me a tazer (what dealership actually advises and sells tazers?).

Anyway, long tangent aside, no resolution to my issues. After buying the truck, the 8-year Mopar warranty, and going out of my way to keep everything “Mopar” and service performed by authorized dealers, this, being my first Jeep, it might also end up being my last.

So sorry to hear about your experience.
Not all dealers are created equal. Mine partially stripped two tie down bolts in the bed when doing the bed lined. They immediately ordered two new ones and gave me a second free tank of diesel abs a second detailing inside and out.
