35s and No Lift Thread

- Mammoth General Matt Black wheels (17x9 -6 offset)
- Toyo Open Country AT III's 315/70/17 (34.4)
- No Lift

No rubbing anywhere. 1.5" TeraFlex front spacers and 3/4" Daystar rear spacers likely to go on once we warm up around here but all good right now for ON Road driving.

Ride is so much better than the stock 20's, much more cushion and surprisingly light feeling in the steering wheel.

Question, I assume those studs and nuts are decorative? What is the finish on those?

I have seen like faux bolts on Rhino Wheels and they tend to look like ass after a few years with corrosion but they just have what I assume is a weak oxide coating.

Thanks! Yes, they are decorative. Serve no other purpose.

I couldn't say for sure what the finish is. The look and feel like normal bolts one would get from home depot or a hardware store. Its below 30 degrees here but when it warms up, I will inspect them a bit further.

I too was and am concerned with what those are gonna look like in a couple years. I have the 5th wheel (spare) due today and will give that one a thorough look over at the bolts and see if they come out, I assume they would. If removable, they may get replaced or coated with something that will preserve them.

Thanks! The white top was definitely one of the things I was after when looking at the model I wanted. Although, I also think the black top with white fenders looks pretty bad ass too.

Took a closer look at the spare this morning and the bolts and nuts are stainless steel. So no “rust” but oxidation will occur over time but the whole wheel is aluminum.

They serve only as a visual/decorative feature.

In removing one I did note a mark in the powder coat from the lock side of the nut, which makes removing them permanently not an attractive option as that would have to be addressed for all 12 bolts on all wheels. But… possible replacement with other decorative options are possible.

I have an email into Mammoth wheels to confirm they are stainless and what, if any care recommendations they have or took during assembly.

Will report back what I find.

Installed spare after and it fit with plenty of room. Interested to see if any noticable feel in ride with that bigger tire/wheel back there.

Too lazy to read the whole 24 page thread. Looks like everyone is running after market wheels...

I have a bone stock Rubiconand do like the wheels that came with it. Whats the size that will fit mine with no mods, cutting or rubbing? I do like the Wildpeak 33s and once it wears out, plan to go with 34 or 35s (trying to preserve my diesel milege..lol). Just saw most gas stations here go back to $5.99/g gas prices while diesel is still $4.89 at my Costco !!
