How does it sound without the resonator? Been thinking about doing that as well, then just putting a piece of pipe and the same turn-down in the same spot.

I almost bought those SAME tires! The Gladiator X Comp MT 37x13.50r20 (78 lbs)... How do you like them? I read mostly good reviews, but about 25% of the reviews said they had balancing and separation issues... So I was kind of leary... I was about to pull the trigger on them, but I contacted Don @ Discount Tire (here on the forum) and ended up going with a set of Kumho Road Venture MT KL71's in 37x13.50r20, because 1,) I got a hell of a deal on the,. 2.) I have prior experience with these tires, and 3.) They were only $80 more for the whole set shipped to my door, than my local shop wanted for a set of the Gladiators. They're about 5 lbs. heavier per tire at 83 lbs. each, but that's not too bad...The Nitto Trail Grapplers in 37x13.50r20 were 92 lbs each, and the Mud Grapplers in the same size were 100!!! :surprised:

With my 20's and 37x13.50's I should end up only being about 30 lbs. per corner heavier than my stock Rubicon wheels (23 lbs each) and stock W/P MT 285/70r17's (63.3 lbs. each). :like:

Does it not heat the tire up without the shield? That’s what’s blocking me from getting my 37x13.5x18 under there.

I haven’t even tried to fit a spare under there. I’m going to look for a cheap used 37x___r17 to fit on the metal factory spare wheel, as a “get me home” tire, and will see if it will fit under there. :like:

I cant tell that it has had any effect on the tire...I haven't taken it off to inspect it tho

Anyone tried the General Grabber A/TX 37x12.5/R17 size? I was thinking of going that route but now wondering if the Milestars are going to be better for fitment...

i'm going to 18" steel spare for a couple reasons, main one is to fit either a 37x11.50r18 (11.47" section width) or 285 75r18 (11.26" section width, true 35" tall, slightly taller than 35's). Being as i have open diffs, and use as a truck more than a jeep, i only need limp home donut, so even though i'm running 37's...i want the least thick hanging down there, so i'm going 285 75r18...these measure taller than actual 35's. you could go to a 20" steel to run a 37x11.50 also...i want the least amount of junk hanging down from that trunk

Add to the list 37x12.5x17 Achilles Desert Hawk XMT as fitting .... barely. Had to pull the heat shield (wouldn’t fit with heat shield in) and pull it against the receiver while cranking it into place. In the end I have about an 1/8” between the track bar and spare.
JTR w/ 1.5” terraflex front and daystar 3/4 rear lift. 17x9 Incubus Off-road rims -12 offset.

Off topic: How do you like the AEV Wheel? I am leaning toward this rim myself. How are you running them Rashguard or Beadlock? How far do your tires stick out from side?

I love them, I get a lot of compliments on them. I'm running them with rash guards. My 37 x 12.5 stick out about 1" past the fenders.

Sorry one more. Thanks for the answer. Have always lluked the AEV stuff. What type inserts do the use on the rim for the headlock bolt? On my old Walker Evans they had to be relaxed as I had a few spin out. Also want to ensure it’s steel on steel and not steel on aluminum. What lift and size? Any rub, binding, clearance issues? do hope soon that AEV releases their front bumper! We are building up a long range expedition type vehicle to use in the America’s, Australia, possibly Africa or Mongolia etc. Thanks again looks great.

Anybody try a pro comp extreme mt2 tire or the nitro ridge grappler? Curious as to if it will fit. Seems if you have less than 36.8” tire it will squeeze under there.

Just to clarify, I'm running 37 x 12.5 x 17 Milestar Patagonia M/T's on my Rubicon, 1 1/2" leveling kit only, bone stock in the rear, no rubbing and still getting 17.5 MPG's @ 75 MPH on the highway!!! And yes the Milestar fits in stock spare location!
I too went with 37x12.5x17 Patagonia. Mounted on Method 701 rim. I can confirm it fits with 35 psi with a little wiggling but really very little effort. About 1/4" from rear trackbar.

will the “fits” list work with the steel spare wheel? Moving up to 37s. Thinking the K02 or KM2. Tires going on are KM3s, not sure if anyone has had success getting those on. But also considering K02 to save some $$.

If you're not going to put it into your 5 wheel rotation, then why not buy a cheap aluminum wheel with the correct offset and a tire with a "known fits" dimension that is close to your 4 daily driver tires so then you won't have to worry about fitment, etc. You're only going to use it when you have a flat anyway.

I fit my new Falken Wildpeak AT3W 37x12.50x17 on a stock Rubicon granite crystal wheel at 37 psi in the stock spare location. I also do not have the tow receiver. Not sure how much difference that makes.
