So if one manages to get the 37 on a spare up in location...is the wheel actually usable in the event of a flat?
Isn’t the offset or back space on the steel spare rim not going to work on a lifted Jeep anyways?
Is everyone just mounting a good 5th rim with proper offset as a spare or do you plan to use the steely with spacer?

I realize that this probably more directed to those that are using offset wheels and 37s and not for those that have chosen the Stock wheels and spacer route.
I'm curious also...

Brand new 37x12.5r18 Toyo RT on a Black Rhino Armory 18x9.5. Tire is aired down to 15#. Clears factory track bar by a fat 1/8". Gladiator has 4" Readylift for reference. Didn't have to bend heat shield.

Is anyone running the spare on an aftermarket wheel? I have 35's on the Quadratec 1941 wheels. But, the 'holder' does not fit through the center of the wheel. Does anyone know of an alteration that would allow the 'holder' to fit - or any other ideas? I want to have the spare rotated through, thus the need to hold the 35 in the spare location. Thanks!
My 35" full size spare with after market wheel stows away under the bed of my Gladiator. Fortunate that the hub bore on my Fuel Off Road was big enough.

Hello... YES I have a 37" ridge grappler mounted and aired up. with aftermarket wheel as seen in picture UNDER / In the spare wheel . I just did a 5 tire rotation and had no trouble at all. She's close but fits without problem Check with whatever your choice of tires ACTUAL measurements are. the Ridge Grappler is 36.6" . ( 99% positive)

CONFIRMED. Fully inflated Nitto Ridge Grappler 37x12.50x17 with Pro Comp 69 17x9 wheel. Mounted outside of wheel up so hopefully it's protected. Hangs 2 or 3 inches below hitch but is level and secure. Snug - does touch track bar and back of hitch but I didn't have to force it in..

So I repositioned the Yokohama in 37” by removing the to bolts to the heat shield for flex and I got the new Clayton Off-road rear track bar. Fits up there really well. Track bar is another beefy-ass product from COR. Worth it to me...as the spare was rubbing when the weather got warm.

Is this option still working for you?
yes, i will be dropping 15 lbs from the 100 lber currently hanging there, current is that 18" steel with the 285 75r18 ridgegrappler but if i find a single 18" alum jeep take off wheel and go to the 285 75r18 duratrac which wasn't available when i did this, i should be about 15 lbs less overall, a factory 18" alum should be around 25 lbs (the 17's are 23 lbs) and the duratrac is 60 lbs...the steelie is a little over 30 lbs and the ridge grappler is a touch under 70 lbs for a total of 100 lbs and we should be able to total 85 lbs with a better choice

i'm a backpack mountain hunter so i apply weight reduction everywhere, it's like a disease, but done as a whole it makes a big difference, my jeep is quick and sporty, retaining the sport in the sport

Anyone follow up on this?

I have 5 of the same wheels ( Pro Comp Wheels 69 Series l; 17x9) and 5 of the same 37in tires and I didn't have to air down to get my 37in Nitto Ridge Grappler up there as a spare. My spare tire is touching the track bar and back of hitch but not much. Maybe when the temps heat up I should air my spare down some but not sure if it's necessary.

no my question is the point that person was making about offset. I have 4 beadlocks and want to use the steel drum wrapped in the same tire but apparently I also need to worry about offset. Is this an issue?

Sorry, I don't have the steel drum so I can't tell if offset is an issue. And if you're generally asking if the offsets have to be the same for it to be a useable spare, I'm not much help there, either. Maybe I shouldn't have posted...

i went with a full set of (5) matching wheels on 37s. If you use the stock steel rim on a 37 tire then it will only work on the rear Axle. Not enough clearance for up front. I also got the COR rear track bar... money well spent if you have the cash.

I have 37x13.50 nitto exo grapplers, spare mounted in stock location on stock wheel aired down. I also carry a spacer as I anticipate the backspacing on the spare would be an issue albeit in limited situations, though I have not tested it without to verify. Had an extra spacer from a past jk project so it was a pretty simple decision to just throw it in.

donyou have another spacer? I’d be willing to buy it as I would only need one.

Hi. I'm no expert and I'm only speaking and trying to help. Only speaking on my own application. I just took these pics for whoever. It fits , it's solid, doesn't move, it's level, and has multiple points of contact to be secure. Just my 2 cents . I hope this helps.
