The gladiator frame bars are 35” apart that is why a 35” or less tire fits great between the frame rails like designed. If you are going to put a larger tire under there it will be off center and cocked slightly when fully tightened. I just did this and am living with it. But to say “It fits” is not really true and just want people to understand what there going to be dealing with. My drawing is slightly exaggerated but you will get the idea. If at least you could move the heat shield you would get it centered on frame but also hang lower but it will not fully seat up like a Smaller tire.

Hi. I'm no expert and I'm only speaking and trying to help. Only speaking on my own application. I just took these pics for whoever. It fits , it's solid, doesn't move, it's level, and has multiple points of contact to be secure. Just my 2 cents . I hope this helps.

Looks good, you also have tire wear. I have new grappler that looks like this And a slight angle when I stand back front he truck. All I want to do is note that a 37 “ tire does not really fit between the rails and there are some issues like tire angle, true weight centering and in my case extra strain on the cable trying to crank that shit up there trying to get it too look right. I really feel the solution is to remove the heat shield and make anew one on the outside of the frame. Stay tuned on that.

Do you have a stock rear track bar?
I have MIleStar Patagonia 37x12.50x17
Its tight but fits...
How? Mine doesn’t. Do you have a stock rear track bar? Is it aired down? Mine hits the back of the hitch and my EVO track bar.

i just switched out 35x12.50 spare for a 285 75r18 spare, the 285 being a bit taller tire, but the tread is above the bottom line of the hitch, the sidewall hangs just a touch below the bottom line of the hitch...easy 1.5" less hang down than the 12.50 wide tire...appears possibly up to 2" less hang down, section width of a 285 75r18 is 11.26", a 35/37x11.50 is 11.42", and of course the 12.50's are 12.5"...so by math alone 12.5 - 11.26 is 1 1/4" less hang down but it looks like more than that to me...my pics of this are on my instagram @gladiatoryyc, i run 37's but sport with open diffs and use as a truck, i rarely need a spare so a donut will easily do the trick should it ever be required, i looked at the 37x11.50's as next option but it's just another 7 lbs of rubber hanging out back there plus a little more hanging down into the snow or mud...so my rational just went for the 285 75r18. I got a 30.6 lb steel and the nitto ridge i chose was 69.4 lbs so 100 lbs hanging back there but it looks so much better now having that blob hanging down
Is this option still working for you?

Mine hits the back of the hitch and an EVO Mfg track bar.
Just tried to mount a Nitto Terra Grappler G2 which measure 36.5 and the tire was sitting against my rear track bar and right against my hitch. The ones that are fitting a 37 under their Gladiators are y’all letting the tire hit the track bar?

I just managed to fit the impossible 38" tire in the spare location. Aired down Patagonia with about 3,000miles on it, touches hitch and track bar ... But it will do for now.
Replacing the track bar with a rock krawler pro-x rear axle brace and track bar delete is in my future.

Gladiator Xcomp 37x13.50r17 with about 1/2 the tread. I already had the resonator deleted so I went ahead and pulled the heat shield. It fits like a glove!

Thanks. I think I will buy a cheap 18" rim and go with a 37X11.50R18 ridge grappler, and shove it under there flat... Then, pump it up with my portable compressor when I need it. My other tires will be 37x12.50R17 tires. I hope I can fit it in between the frame rails tuck it up there nicely.

37” Wildpeak A/T will fit inflated.

Touches the very back of the heat shield and receiver hitch.

What rim is this on , the stock steel ? If so have you tried it driving on or off road . I’m doing the same setup and wondering if I would need a wheel spacer to avoid rubbing while driving with it on . Thanks

Again, my 37" BFG KO2 fits dead center, and hasn't wobbled once in over 25,000 miles of hard off-roading, to include some serious washboarded trails along Utah's Pony Express trail!

So if one manages to get the 37 on a spare up in location...is the wheel actually usable in the event of a flat?
Isn’t the offset or back space on the steel spare rim not going to work on a lifted Jeep anyways?
Is everyone just mounting a good 5th rim with proper offset as a spare or do you plan to use the steely with spacer?

I realize that this probably more directed to those that are using offset wheels and 37s and not for those that have chosen the Stock wheels and spacer route.

Hello... YES I have a 37" ridge grappler mounted and aired up. with aftermarket wheel as seen in picture UNDER / In the spare wheel . I just did a 5 tire rotation and had no trouble at all. She's close but fits without problem Check with whatever your choice of tires ACTUAL measurements are. the Ridge Grappler is 36.6" . ( 99% positive)
