We are blaming the transmission and ignoring all of the other differences -This ZF trans is used in lots of luxury cars. Do you think they have this same clunk issue? No Bentley owner will put up with this trans issue. I can't believe that we are all told this is normal. Are we all just sheep? We all have to play games with the trans.
driveshafts, u-joints, carrier bearings, backlash in the differential, sound transmission through the various components, we have a transfer case all motion has to go through that those cars do not, and perhaps even differences in the transmissions themselves (design differences)
