My wakeboard boat hasn't even been wet this year.I’ll whole heartedly second the pontoons!!! Best cruise you can get on the lakes. I’m well past my “sell by” for the wake boards and all that fancy high speed jazz. Give me a slow steady cruise and a Root Beer any day of the week.
I would add that I believe the EcoDiesel is Chrysler's own marketing name, like Power stroke is Fords and Duramax is GMs.Given enough money involved, companies can change focus real quick and not that big of a deal to get a supplier under contract.
Adding to this train of thought, the 3.0 Duramax was designed in Italy in partnership with Opel - so it's 'GM' lol. That's the theory on why the timing cover and timing set is on the back of the engine. It was designed more in mind with small Euro cabover type trucks where that would have been more easily accessible...I would add that I believe the EcoDiesel is Chrysler's own marketing name, like Power stroke is Fords and Duramax is GMs.
The 4cly turbo diesel in the Chevy Colorado's was also VM engine, yet GM called it a Duramax.
Meaning nothing says they Chrysler can't slap eco-diesel on another Diesel engine by another manufacture that is in no way related to the VM engines.
Dang was it senior citizens day at the dock when you got this picture? My wakeboard boat hasn't even been wet this year.
I use my pontoon almost every day. Great for cruising and for sitting too!

It’s an absolutely horrible design for an American vehicle if you want to work on it yourself. Who the hell wants to drop a tranny to change a timing chain or any of the normal service type parts??!!Adding to this train of thought, the 3.0 Duramax was designed in Italy in partnership with Opel - so it's 'GM' lol. Anyway...

Mid 2000's Chevy Colorado had a Inline 5 with a rear timing chain set. A lot of those owners unloaded them the first time it became apparent timing work would be needed. It’s an absolutely horrible design for an American vehicle if you want to work on it yourself. “Yeah I’m here for my 100k service”
“That’ll be $12k. $3k for parts and $9k for labor.”
REDONKULOUS!!!!!
Probably why they keep bringing it back in the JL. They just love losing money…Wow this sure is a popular topic in this "small bubble" of jeep enthusiasts. Its also popular on the "small bubble" of YouTube as well. Comment section after comment section, jeep fans want a V8 option.
I wonder how many billions of dollars stellantis would lose offering an affordable 5.7 jt option? Would it be close to 26 billion?

A guy that worked for me years ago had a Ford Sport Trac with a V6. Apparently whatever motor that was had one timing chain in the front and one timing chain in the back. He had the motor out twice trying to fix the back one.Mid 2000's Chevy Colorado had a Inline 5 with a rear timing chain set. Not gonna lie kinda weird calling a dude out for wanting something.. assuming his income status... Telling him he is in a bubble but then posting a photo of your dedicated drag car.LOL - only a fraction of the country has any desert. You are a minority - a small one, and yet keep going back to that. You do what is fine for you - for many of us, it's a total waste and there are a lot of other really fun things to do. Most people don't have the vast disposable income you do with multiple properties miles apart either. Again, you are a niche case, a fraction of the total JT population.
Yes, for sure It makes sense for you - and pretty much you only. You've even admitted to the extreme income. But it just isn't the case for 99% of those here. You are a one-off.
Have you ever really drag raced? People have a blast running brackets at way under 1,000 HP. Again, you are into extremes and shouldn't even try to compare to the vast majority. Maybe you need to hang out with ordinary people? Learn how most of us live and have fun, outside of your bubble.
HAHAHAHANot gonna lie kinda weird calling a dude out for wanting something.. assuming his income status... Telling him he is in a bubble but then posting a photo of your dedicated drag car.
Still all the naysayers would be surprised if a reasonably price 5.7 would be dropped into the gladiator. Just like a 1500 V6 offered and everyone opted for the 5.7 for years.
Some people cant stand it when alot of people have an interest in something that they dont like or dont approve of especially after telling the forum how great and knowledgeable they are about everything automotive related. Arrogant people dont like it when you disagree with them. Not gonna lie kinda weird calling a dude out for wanting something.. assuming his income status... You mentioned being able to put less money in another car to make 500hp or whatever and posting a pic of a car on the strip would have assumed it was yours.HAHAHAHA
Dedicated drag car? Since when did I post a photo of my "dedicated drag car" since I don't even have one.
No assuming on status - he's flat out said it many times. So you must be new here.,
