3rd brake light a common issue?

Mine was out when I bought my 21 used. They fixed it free of charge. Of course, I was spending big $$$ for a spare key fob. The mechanic noticed it when he was programming the key.

I agree. I shamed them into fixing it. They were nice about it. Saved me 80 bucks.

If mine goes, I will shed the inners of the light and install an LED strip instead. The housing will be there just to secure it into the stock location.
Has anyone tried this?

I'd be curious if anyone has tried this. There was a company that did sequenced lights out there someplace. But not sure if they replaced then entire printed circuit or just something before that. Was expensive for just replacing the light so I got a replacement one. ... Then the light started working again. I'll take the old one out anyways since bought new one, but it's a stupid problem to have to no real solution to but replace it with another part that will break again. Guess I should just glad I don't live in state with inspections that'd tag me on this.

There will be no warning message. When you back up to a wall and notice the center brake light isn't on, that's when you notice.

A whole $11.38. I’m gonna clip the wire for the running light or wire it to the bed light and use it as a chase light.

I agree that the light strip shown above is bright and effective to warn the driver behind you, however, I do not think it is considered the same thing is the CHMSL. Center High Mounted Stop Light. Federal rules say the center brake light must be above the two outside brake lights. As I said, I agree these light strips are effective. They just might not be the correct solution in a state that has vehicle inspections.

I've also liked the brake light that fits into the receiver hitch and plugs into the trailer plug.

I cracked mine open, got rid of the guts and replaced them with a simple 12 v led strip. I got a 8 pack of them for 7 bucks. Only needed 1

I shot Benny @AllMoparParts.com note inquiring the cost to shoot me one this morning. The light strip should be here for a weekend quick install. If I don’t like it, it’s an $11 lesson learned.
