That's interesting as a reason some of us with our cars convert to a 4 link system - moving away from leaf springs - is to get away from axle wrap issues - and these trucks shouldn't have such issues IF the link system is solid enough. MAYBE there's not enough offset or distance on the links and they have some issues?
Still shouldn't be an issue with an automatic. Not with the HP and torque ratings of these engines.
My diesel gets significant wheel hop in sand under high power situations.

My gasser JT gets significant wheel hop on gravel in snow - climbing my neighbor's driveway hauling my trailer in 2 wheel drive, there was snow on his drive and I started to spin wheels and it was hopping and tearing his gravel up. I had to stop and go to 4 wheel drive mode. It made the rear end hop.
It may not look like much from this perspective, but where my trailer sits, I stand and am looking with eye level being about the even with the bottom course of block on his retaining wall. It's a fair climb up to the road.
It hops when it's slick and tough pulling.

2WDmine would hop. 4wd and it freakin’ pulls.

Rained here for first time in a while, 1/3rd throttle and back end would kick out. Slipped in to 4wd, and launches straight as an arrow; no muss, no fuss.

I wanted to see if this one would "walk" up that steep slick slope like my Chevy did in 2 wheel drive. It did not. The Chevy would apply braking via ABS when getting up a slick driveway. The JT just spins, no TC. And yes, throttle on rain-slick roads right after winter with the sand in the intersection, mine will go sideways with ease.
4H, no issues at all, straight and true, but as a 2 wheel drive truck, it lacks the prowess of others.

Anyway, I was mostly pointing out how these, like many pickups will do under certain conditions, will hop like a bunny. That's not new, strange, freaky, unique or impossible for coil spring suspension. Heck, I've watched semi tractors hop their rear wheels under conditions like I was pulling my trailer through so I wasn't surprised, I was hoping it would get me all the way through in 2H but alas, it just didn't have it in itself. it's a case of - when both wheels are on a slick surface, LSD or BLD, won't matter, it's gonna spin. There wasn't a rear wheel to transfer the torque to while holding back the other. And that's why I only buy 4x4s (and appreciate decent winter tires)

That actually makes sense that it would. I've never had mine in the conditions some of you guys (and gals, sorry) have had yours in. It's been tested in limited ways in snow, never in sand (other than the crap the DOT tosses out the backs of their trucks every winter) or rocks (other than the rock driveway here and some rock roads)
It's lived a very pampered life in a way, other than my abusing it with payload and making it go faster than it really should.

From a logical drive train point of view, I'm not surprised that there'd be some amount of hop even in 4H mode.

We had some wheel hop in sand last week. 4 low and punched up a gear with our HA diesel. I need to look under the truck and see if we have the shock….

ETA - just looked, no shock.

my maxtow sport s had zero wheel hop.

My 2022 sport s diesel flopped and jumped allover and bottomed out constantly.

I put a metal cloak lift and the stiffer taller springs and shocks fixed it.

Well, I don't get any axle hop. ;)
I can't definitely say that it actually makes a difference, but I always have several hundred pounds of extra weight on the truck.

Sport S, limited slip, manual transmission, has the shock. Stock highway or newer all terrains and I can just about floor it in the rain on pavement. No hop.

I do get wheel hop off-road sometimes, like in deep snow or sand. I have a bed topper and generally a RTT on, as well as a fridge and a bunch of camping gear most of the time.
On pavement, I have never had an issue with wheel hop.
I'd love to hear from anyone that has added one and seen improvements of some kind.

I never replied to this thread but I did get the differential shock for my 2021 Mojave and it made a big difference , it would hop in the real soft sand coming over the dunes at beach , and also made the rear a ā€œfirmer feelingā€ only way I can say it. Has been on for three years now and 35,000 miles and countless dune crossing for surf finishing and never a hop . Before it took effort and a very light foot to prevent hop which was typically at the very worse place on the beach to come off the gas, don’t even think about it now. Mojave is not really lifted at all but has Max Tow rear springs with Icon
1 3/8ā€ spacers to make up for much shorter Max Tow springs. It hopped with Mojave and the Max Tow springs……Jack

Sorry for opening an old post but seemed like somebody should say that the diff shock works!

Has anyone added this to an automatic? I have a 21 Mojave and have the bracket on the frame. Would any shock work or would it need to be this specific bilstein?

I have one on a 2021 Mojave with automatic and like it a lot, you need to get the differential bracket and I would get the shock made for it, it is a quality shock and has held up well....Jack
