After I added the 2 inch suspension lift, 33 inch tires, steel bumper and 10K winch, the Gladiator felt a little winded. Frequent downshifting was the norm from the 8 speed, even going up a gradual incline. On the freeway, the tyranny was constantly hunting between 7th and 8th gear.
The drive home after the new G2 gears were installed was amazing. The power band is back where it should be and acceleration is seemless. Looking forward to the trails as soon as the break-in period is complete.

You must of had 3:73 Gears. Mine does great on 35's with the 4.10 gears on the Max tow. Almost 19 MPGs and still plenty of power.

Yes, 3.73’s stock. The 4.56’s should nicely pull my 3500# travel trailer.

I couldn't tell a darn bit a difference going to 35X12.5 tires and heavy iron cross step bars with 3.73 gears with my 6spd manual. Gas mileage stayed exactly the same.

Well, you haven't had to try to turn a tire in 8" of crusted snow yet, or bump your trailer in reverse up onto your parking pad from the curb, or start from a dig on your country friends really steep driveway. All stall or clutch smoking material for my 3.73 on 35/37's...need 4lo to some of the simplest tasks lol. You've been warned. ;)

I definitely could going from the stock 31s on the max tow to 35s... It's fine once it gets going but it's clear there's less ratio straight off the line. At least I still get 20 on the freeway without trying.

Ok, so...what made you choose this over 4:10 or 4:88?
Legit question here and not wanting tone to get lost in posting and come off like a dick.
The max tow and others come with a 4:10 and a lot of people on here go to the 4:88. I'm running 33s and legit curious.

What was the gas mileage before you switch to the 35's and bars just curious.

You’re about 500 rpm below optimal for any given speed. Look at a axle ratio vs tire diameter chart. It’s all about physics my man.
Wouldn't that just allow me to stay in 3rd gear longer being I use 3rd 90% of the time. I don't have an auto.
