In addition to all that, 37 and up really should be a regear as well... 37's really need 4.56-4.88, and the 38's will need 4.88-5.13.

With the tire and wheel size combo you're thinking about, I can guess that the only offroading that you plan to ever see is your front lawn (when washing the Jeep), the amount of flex you'll see in the parking lot at the mall will probably never compress the stock shocks to matter...
Yeah thanks, I totally didn't even think about the regear to go with those tires.

@90victorhugo You could literally "get by" without doing a regear on 37/38. With the factory 4.10 gears on the Rubicons, it's passable. I have not regeared for my 37's yet. I had a plan to go up to 4.88's but I found it just wasn't awful. I mean I don't see 8th gear on the highway unless I'm going down hill with a tail wind...lol.

But Artsy is right, you would really want to plan for a regear if you want to have any hope at decent fuel economy (which sucks on lifted vehicles with big heavy wheel/tire combinations anyways). The higher you lift it, the more wind gets caught underneath it at speed and really makes it harder to drive on the highways....

Hey everyone, I just bought my Gladiator Rubicon and already want to start the mods. Does anyone know if their is any 4” or 4.5” lift kits that let you use the stock Fox shocks? Any recommendations are appreciated
Watch out. Around this place opinions are like assholes... so here's mine!

Please don't put 22s on a gladiator...

@90victorhugo

Around Phoenix there are a lot of shops to do the lifts. I've had really good experience with Mike at:
https://outlawjeepandoffroad.com/

I can't tell you he's the cheapest because I don't know everyone's shop rate but I can tell you he will do everything to make you happy and make sure everything is right.

Also SDHQ out in Gilbert is one of the best shop experiences I've ever had. They did my lift and will get any of my future business. They do the Icon lifts which are great and they are truck specialists as well. They are big in the trphy truck scene, in fact they were one of the main sponsors of last week's King of the Hammers competition.

You'd want a set of longer shocks that are designed for that lift amount. Factory shocks are only good for 1.5-2.5 of lift, even with shock extensions.

that makes sense, do you have any recomendations on a good kit by any chance?

The guy from Teraflex which sales lift kits for jeeps is who you replied to. They have plenty of lifts available for your needs. So does many other companies and if you're building a MallCrawler you can probably get by with the cheaper lifts and some steering upgrades

Yes Diesel changes things. You need a diesel specific lift which basically comes with stiffer front springs to handle the added weight of the EcoD.

If you are going for looks just do a mopar lift and move on with your day and have the dealer do it. If you are serious about off road then you need to explain what type of off roading you plan. Aka rock crawling or desert high speed.

If you aren't doing anything specific just do the mopar which will have you covered for the broadest options.

Whats your budget? Options can go from few hundred bucks to $5k plus depending what you want to do.

Metalcloak has some 3.5" stock shock kits that will easily clear a 37-38
