Pop off the lower right kick trim. The leads should be tucked under there.

The photo I attached had the kick panel completely removed I believe or maybe there is a different panel? Thanks for your help

Cab Aux Switch wires located under glove box. Just throwing some words on here for searches. Heck of a day finding these today. Glad I gave up on the rubber grommet on passenger side. If I get static on CB I will revisit a more direct line to BAT POS. Great Jeep but designers did not leave us many choices through the firewall on passenger side.

The AUX switches make life easier for wiring lights and similar devices. If they could be used for ESS disable, someone would have already posted how to do it. One of the forum sponsors sells a device for about $120 that plugs in under the dash and takes care of the ESS issue.

Great thread even after a bit of time..... Went searching around as Im a newbie with auxilary switches, found this thread and helped a ton for my upcoming rigid 20" light bar.

I'm going to install the Dorman seat heaters.
I also have the Aux switches.
The heaters come with a 3 way switch (off/low/ high).
Do I need to use this, or just use the aux switch?
I'm assuming I need to use the Dorman switch.
Instead of running directly to the fuse box, can I run to the aux switch wires already on the inside (or would I then have 2 switches to turn on - aux switch and Dorman switch?)

You will need to use the wiring and switch included with the heater for it to operate correctly. If you have the factory installed AUX Switches, there are two hot wires under the dash, one switched with the ignition and one always active. You will need to check the manual for the fuse ratings and compare that with what is pulled by the seat heaters. You might have to run a wire from the battery through the firewall.

How many AMPS do the seat heaters draw? That should be the first question before deciding anything else, IMO.

It's the Dorman universal seat heater kit 628-040.

Only thing I can find in the instructions is that it is +12v.

The installation instructions show the included wiring harness has a 10 amp fuse in it. It should work fine connected to the switched hot wire in the AUX bundle, or to AUX switch 3 or 4.
