I had 315 70 17 BFG KO2S and regretted putting them on after the first week. I've been wanting 37's ever since but the dang BFGs just last forever. I recently swapped them out for a use 70% treaded set of Goodyear Kevlar MTRs 37 12.5 17 tires I got for $550 total mounted and Balanced. I considered a 39 12.5 17 Kanati Mud Hog but the weight of the tire and having to do a regear made me decide on the 37's. I'm pleased with the look. One of the main reasons I'll never go 40's is the cost associated with getting it done and the altering of the axles plus I really like my stock steely wheels and have no desire to swap them for anything aftermarket. Sure 40's look great but I'm happy with my 37's and that will be the standard for me. I'm getting over 17mpgs which is a night and day difference from my JKU that got 12-13 at best on 37's. If I regear down the road I can make that number go up but if I don't then I'm content where I'm at and I feel like I can tackle a decent trail in my rig if I choose to and still feel comfortable driving on the road with it as well. That's important to me because it's my daily driver that I have put almost 22,000 miles on in a year of ownership. Whichever way you go I'm sure it will look great.

Buy once cry once was some advice I got a long time ago that I always fail to follow for some reason!!!!
Yeah you should be happy that looks great! Thanks for your input!

40s will probably give you 9MPG and the 3.6L will be screaming at 5K RPM trying to go straight at 60MPH. I highly recommend test driving a 40s setup with the stock engine unless you have the diesel or HEMI...it will look good and drive horribly as a daily driver

Whatever. Do you even read the threads bro? “My truck on 42’s and the stock 4.10 gears drives totally fine. Yeah, I lost 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th gear, but there’s still 4 more. I see no reason to even regear it.”

Well I have an Overland, so 3.73 for me. I also lost 4th, and 3rd is screeming at 55. But it's good, cause the gram.

Bruh. Totally.

In reality...what we looking at?
-$2500-3000 in wheel and tire
-$~25,000 in axles, diffs, and gears + labor
-$30-35,000 in hemi swap...less if youre willing to take a chevy motor (barf)
-$10k(?) in lift when install and frame notching/alignment/etc is all done?

Give or take?

I mean yeah, if this is just “get the 40” look for mall crawling and ‘Gram’ing.” i guess 4.5” lift with 5.38’s and chromo axles would be ok.

But to actually WHEEL it? damn.

I'm getting around 14mpg now which is down ~1.5pmg since the change from my 37's to 40's. I have basically lost 7th gear but am cruising at 65-70mph at ~2500rpm. I do not offroad at all, unless you count beach cruising. I've upgraded all of my steering components but have not messed with my axles. Im sure there will be some issues that pop up down the road but so far so good.
