My routine is slightly different.

Thanks for sharing this diagram. It aligns with Zachanadandy's suggestion: "If I had a rear LSD I'd have to make sure the spare ended up on the front...". Also see Zachanadandy's comment in post #102.

This five-tire rotation method is suitable for vehicles with Trac-Lok limited slip (LS, or LSD) anti-spin rear differential. Please add a comment if this applies to other (LS) differentials on the Gladiator.

It's a choice.

4 tire, if you are just swapping back to front, you need at least one jack stand and a floor jack.

5 tire, one floor jack.
Why does 4 tire, back to front need a jack stand? Put the jack in the middle and raise both ends at the same time.

Not everyone has a floor jack that can raise a lifted Glad with big tires from the frame rails. A stock Glad on 31s or 33s maybe.

Did not realize LSDs can factor into how the spare is brought into the rotation.

😆 I could get my 4 tire ( front to back) rotation done much faster than your 5 tire rotation with your ONE floor jack. 😉

One hydraulic jack under the rear diff…… and one hydraulic jack under a corner. Swap wheels. Move jack to the other side…swap. Lower rear diff. DONE.

They’d need TWO jackstands and a hydraulic jack minimum.

Doesn’t everyone have random blocks of wood in the garage, or is that just me? 😆

Just You

Also... not safe, but that's my opinion.
Ever seen them move a large building, even multi story? Cribbing is just wood. I'd trust a few 4x6s stacked up over most jack stands to be honest. Remember the recall on harbor freight jack stands? Not to mention if we are talking tire rotation there's no reason to be anywhere near under the vehicle. What's the worst thing that happens, it falls on the ground and you have to jack it up again?

It's not critical, but you want your tires as close to even as possible with a LSD. Would it hurt anything? Probably not. Why risk it though? I'd just stick with 4 tire rotations with a LSD, and if I needed to use the spare it would go on the front.

I've only ever done four tire rotations. Mine seem to wear fairly evenly. I do every other oil change, and use the dealer for the Jeep Wave changes in-between. The tires only get rotated when it's the dealers turn. I'll have to see what prices are like next year when it's time to renew. Last time, the Wave Plan with two oil changes was cheaper than the dealers pre-paid packages.

Yeah... half the Glad up in the air on a floor jack and a stack of JENGA© blocks. No thank you.
