Bestop, your jl/jt tops look great in the erect position but in convertable mode they look like diapers. Ill stick with my hardtop until you come out with a classic wrangler softop design.

How about a hardtop that once the freedom panels are removed, the rear portion comes apart into 4 pieces for easy disassembly?
Like the ford bronco

I would like a hard rolling top... similar to the rolling ridge hard rolling tonneau cover only over the cab... so you would simply unlatch it and roll it into the bed... it would be more secure than a standard soft top, easy to take down, easy to completely remove, it would be more flat since you wouldnt need the supports and wouldnt have the man bun styling

That's a really great idea!

Tan top - like the wayout concept

Another vote here for a tan top. I would buy immediately even if same configuration as OEM. That said I also agree would be ideal if it folded down onto bed instead of man bun look. In my opinion no need for the closed back “window” when you have top down.

@Bestop I'd want your 'Ultra' series tops for the JT. I think that's what most people actually want. I envision the sunrider portion would look just like the existing soft top, with the option for that entire mechanism to slide backwards inside rails to fold against the top of the bed to give the full open air experience.

For those that may not be familiar with the Supertop Ultra:

This one wins for me. Tan would be perfect too.

Hey All,
What would you like to see in an aftermarket top option?

Simple design - keeps the rain out even at highway speeds. Frameless or near frameless - minimal hardware to bolt on. Easily removed for winter when placing the hardtop back on. Doesn't even need to 'fold down'! - just take it off, fold it up, and stuff it behind the back seat. Under $500.

Edit: Give us some color options: Black, Gray, Tan...

That's how the NX series frameless is on the TJ. They add a bow in the front to prevent water pooling, and there is a bow that slips into a pocket and sits on the radius from the top cage tubes, to the back tubes. Could probably do something similar. Hardest part would be to keep the rear headrests off the rear window... may need something like a felt to put on the backside of the headrests. Or, maybe a bracket that connects to the rear door frame surrounds and has pads to rest on the rear down tube of the cage...

This...exactly. It can sit up on the bed rails when fully down, or current sunrider position if you need the full bed. Doesn't have to fold down inside the bed, that'd be way too much engineering. but I think sitting on the rails or tonneau cover is what most would be satisfied with.

“Thanks for asking Lee. An option to extend the folded top down fabric, to on top of the actual bed. If you were hauling something in the bed it would also be nice to have the current "man bun" look if possible. Cheers!”

My thoughts exactly.

I’m just not one of those man-bun dudes. I would go with the soft top but it’s just a little too dorky looking, doesn’t fall down enough,(I get it with the bed but I could deal with it.) And sticking way up in the air like that, it wouldn’t fit in my garage without putting it back up.

soft top on the Wrangler? Great design and I love it. This thing? Nope.

Would love to see something comparable to the trek top pro w/rear glass or even the motorized hard top (not a fan of the look of the current soft top on the gladiator).

I definitely and most wholeheartedly agree. We have an extreme terrain Roof rack and we also have a bestop classic slant back on the JK. It's much better than the factory soft top. You can't fold back the factory soft top with the roof rack, but since the bestop top rolls back, it works perfect. I don't like the fold back anyway. Now if bestop or someone can manufacturer something for us JT owners, that would be great! I'm just not a fan of the fold back. My opinion only. A different style of soft top would also be nice. And it's crazy because I've had my gladiator since June 2019. So, they've had time. So yes, I agree! We need options!

Just like the 715 Concept would be great and if it could fold completely away out of the wind would be awesome.
