Altitude vs. Sport S ...

I am looking to put together a Jeep Gladiator to order. Since I am looking for the maximum towing & payload capacities, I am looking at a Sport S. However, I have noticed there is also an Altitude package that seems to add a few "upgrades" to the Sport S. I noticed they mentioned a different front bumper, but I can't seem to find what the difference is explained anywhere. Does anyone know what the difference might be? Thanks.

For the bumper, as far as I can tell, it is just blacked out inserts around the fogs.

Think of it as a black out package like in other trucks plus bigger tires/wheels and the freedom top standard along with body color grill standard.

The Gladiator Altitude starts with a Sport S trim and adds some dark accents to the exterior such as a body-color grille with Dark Gray accents, body-color fender flares, black Jeep and Trail Rated badges, and 18-inch Granite Crystal wheels wrapped wth 255/70R18 Bridgestone Dueler All-Terrain tires.

Just build an altitude to what you want and built a Sport S to what you want and order the cheaper one. Done. They wont be too far apart. I did that and figured to go Sport S as I am going to change the tires and wheels aftermarket and dont want to pay for the dark accents.

I thought I read where can select the Max Tow package on the build it Jeep website you can't select that option when ordering from the dealer?

IF that is true you'll have to go with the Sport S package.

If you want Max Tow, you cannot get the Altitude.

I along with some other folks on the forum attempted to order the Altitude w/ Max Tow but we were told by our dealers that their system would not allow the Max Tow package to be added.

The online system allowed us to build it that way and it did come out a hair cheaper than loading a Sport S up, but they are (or at least were) not compatible with the actual ordering system.

Just an FYI to avoid confusion, he's talking about the Sport-level Altitude package, not the High Altitude which is slightly different.

That's what I saw as well ... the Altitude turned out to be less than the Sport S, but if I can't get the max tow, then I'll have to stick with the Sport S.
