Suggest you add something like this to the chimney, to protect the heater from dust (or bees or whatever) when not in use. My understanding is that over time, it can impact the built-in fan. I take a leaf blower to mine once or twice a year... blow from the firebox up and out. You'd be surprised by the cloud of dust that emerges!I coworker of my sons does Powder Coating so I may take him up on offer to do it for me. I will also look into cerakote treatment. Yes, I will be installing myself so no rush. I would not even be on this thread if it was not for that fireplace. Long story short my wife was totally against spending this kind of money for the ALU CAB set up. One day when I was watching more YOUTUBE videos with ALU CAB Canopy Camper setups and they were showing how the Dickinson Fireplace worked well and provided ambience to the interior. Well...She put down her book and said, "A fireplace inside the camper? Wow!" She was hooked and then gave me the go ahead on purchasing my canopy Camper![]()
