Great choice! I am in the North East and had a Camero for awhile and then and Mustang convertible but got mad every time I walked into the garage in the winter and saw it sitting there gathering dust unable to be driven. At least 4 months a year stuck in the garage. Plus, as I got older I didn't care about the rumbling engines any more and just wanted something fun and peaceful to drive!

The Jeep is perfect in upstate NY all year long. Open air in warmer weather and play in the snow all winter long!

Great color! Enjoy

Time for a change! The Vette was nice, but only 11,000 miles in about 4 years. It's a short season here in MN, has low ground clearance, fragile wheels, limited storage . . . Just taking up space too much. Went to a few car shows, but found them kind of boring. But it was pretty.

The Gladiator is blast to drive, all-season here in MN, not at all fragile, and is a truck too. I happen to have a nice utility trailer here at home for lumber runs or ATV service, so box size is not a big deal. After much thought on the color decision, very happy with Sarge! Interior is two-tone black and a subtle green.

A Jeep has always been on my wish list, and finally have one. Expect some rookie questions, but I promise to try search first.

Congrats. Ask away. I found this forum asking google a rookie question in 2021.

When I saw those in the 2024's, I actually considered trading my 2023 in for one (I LOVE green) but couldn't justify the $$$ loss
katzkin.com is a LOT cheaper than trading in. ditch your old interior, not your old truck

You are 100% correct on that Jim, and I don't disagree a single bit. Being retired, I have little to do expect spend HOURS on the computer researching stuff that I am interested in. I probably have 100+ hours on Katzkin's website building different configurations/designs.

If I had the cloth seats swapping them out would be a "no-brainer." The problem is, that I already have the factory leather seats and actually like them a lot! Swapping them out with Katzkin seats, down the road, is certainly on the radar but there are a lot of things I will probably look at before that.

Sorry Jon I cant give you an opinion on what corvette is better (just owned a Camaro SS-I get the winter time blues as I once lived in the salt belt ) and as far as interior choices or rust prevention yeah I kinda just let things be cuz I’m likely not going to own this vehicle 15 years from now( car dealerships aren’t gonna give me more trade value cuz I rust proofed it) . My thoughts are what are you going to do about the signage in your garage? Is it going to be a memorial (understandable ) or plans to upgrade to pay respects to our gladiator/wrangler world? Most of us have bought a sign or two-or-three……??
By the way that’s an awesome color! I’ve always liked it but I’ve got another half who will drive it twice a year and doesn’t like green. Yeah I’m whipped! ? But happy ?

^^^ Funny! Not sure what to do with the Vette stuff. Might keep if for now and add some Jeep, or they might end up in landfill. Good question though. PS: Happy my wife approved the color.

The trade, by the way, was great. They gave me a very good price for the Vette, and saved a lot on sales tax, as you only pay sales tax on the difference. Probably the only car that I will ever own that sold for just about what I paid.

Overall great choice! Good luck with it!

I do miss the 420 hp from time to time, but sure don't miss cringing every time I drive over an object in the road while worrying whether it's going to destroy my front spoiler again. Great to be back in the Jeep life again!

Hmmm, interesting. I have a decent shop at home, so I am really tempted to try Woolwax myself. Not a fan of having others working on my vehicles if I can possibly do it myself.
Weekly car wash with underbody wash in the winter.

NICE!

My brother traded a Camaro ZL-1 1LE for his Gladiator a few years ago. He just last fall traded his Gladiator for a Tahoe and really regrets it.

My garage looked like this today......

Nah, the C8 is orders of magnitude better than the C7, but the 7 was absolutely the best of the bunch before the mid engine revolution.
I would rather have a C6 Z06 but its all what you like. I don't like the looks of the C8

I care about being engaging to drive, and you can buy a manual C7 Z06 for less than a new C8 2LT Z51. Alternatively manual C6 ZR1s are also out there for 2lt z51 money as well

Yep, all true. And in regular city driving, or even higher speed rural stuff that works awesome, and I would go for that too. But for a track day, I will take the C8.
