Ended up pulling the trigger on a 4122 hitch slider. Feels like a very good, quality product. Hopefully I can put it through it's paces sometime soon.

Congrats on the AEV lift in the 41.22 slider - I have the same stuff on mine, and I’m also in Northern California!

I am up above Sacramento. I used the Rancho corrective brackets with the AEV lift.

Visiting family out of town for Thanksgiving and scored a deal locally (to them) on an AEV lift kit. Will be a bit before I have a chance to install it but still pretty excited about it!

You’re going to like the kit. I do suggest the geometry brackets at the same time though.

Yep, got some from rancho sitting right next to me now.

I have the rancho brackets ready for install as well. I see your from Yuba City, I'm just a bit north of you in Chico.

The bad news

- With the lack of time and the bad weather I still haven't been able to install the AEV lift yet. The box is sitting in a closet and is taunting me every day I open the closet to grab a random tool.

The good news

- I got more parts that will make the install take longer by the time I get to it lol. Some Apex Autolynx quick disconnects came in that I'll be installing at the same time as the aev kit and geo brackets. I've taken a brief look at them already and they seem very well built.

- I have more jeep parts to install! I was happy enough with Lasfits hood lock system that I decided to try their pod lights as well. Got a couple sets I'm planning on putting on once the weather here in CA gets better.

Remember how I posted some pictures of the Coverking Topliner on the freedom panels last October? Well I finally stopped procrastinating and did the rear roof this last weekend.

Overall, it went relatively smoothly and as expected. Seems to gotten a touch quieter and the Jeep no longer looks like I'm sitting on the inside of a Styrofoam cooler.

I’ll be interested to hear how you like the apex disconnects. Also I’m curious why you chose the Rancho Geo brackets over the AEV ones? I have the AEV lift and correction brackets on my Mojave. It rides as good or better than stock.

I'm probably more excited about the disconnects than the lift lol. I spend more time on forest roads than anything extreme so I'm hoping I'll appreciate the ease of use/comfort of the disconnects for that purpose.

I chose the rancho brackets mainly because of the price. They seem to have been well received from others on this forum so I figured I'd try them out.

Going to sidebar for a second with a Jeep "adjacent" project. Bought a wheel+tire package, but not for my Jeep, but my son's ride-on "Jeep" I got him for Christmas. He's been loving it, but it's apparent its a pretty rough ride and its pretty loud on pavement (as to be expected, the wheels are hard plastic).

Since I modify all my vehicles, I figured I'd do this one as well. Bought some harbor freight pneumatic 10" tires and got to work. You can see them below. Since pizza cutter tires are all the rage these days the look like they would work pretty well.

Jeep Gladiator Andrew's 2022 Sarge Green Mojave - Northern CA 20230201_171639-01

I designed and 3d printed some flanged bushings for a tight fitment on the "axle" (set of two for each wheel) and pressed them into the bearings. That (+ some spacers) was enough for the front wheels.

Jeep Gladiator Andrew's 2022 Sarge Green Mojave - Northern CA 20230202_171946-01

Next came the rear drive wheels. I found someone who had designed a hub adapter for a similiar ride-on to convert to the 4 bolt pattern. First print almost worked, I ended up having to modify the design to be about ~ 8.5mm shorter and reprinted to make it fit my particular model.

After that was the inspection by the expert who will be driving this thing.

The pneumatic tires are obviously heavier than the hollow plastic wheels so acceleration from a stop seems slower, but boy did this make a difference in grip and reduce how loud this thing is on pavement. Likely I'll be doing further modifications (ie power) but that will be after he gets a bit more comfortable with it.

Finally a weekend where I am both free and the weather is nice! I installed AEV lift along with rancho geometry correction brackets and Apex Autolynx quick disconnects. Was a bit of a bear to do in a parking lot on jack stands (especially properly torqueing the control arms). Would have been quite a bit easier with a lift and air tools. Nevertheless, glad to have it done.

Nice! Same setup I have - AEV, brackets and Apex. Currently in Moab from NorCal and its working great.

Having that extra lift is making a big difference on break over angle. A lot less scraping this time!

After some deliberation, decided to jump on a deal for the bestop sunrider. After a few days, I can already tell I'm going to use this constantly. So much more convenient than taking off and storing the hardtop panels.

Downside, it definitely is alot louder than the hardtop panels, especially since I added deadening to mine. Traffic noise seems to be the biggest difference. Around town and with no traffic it's not really noticeable, it's when you are around other cars driving around you notice the difference. Highway is also a bit louder as well, but alot of my highway driving is at 70+.

So, it's been a while since an update.

I've been visiting family for christmas and came across a deal I couldn't pass up. Looks like I'll be swapping on some new (to me) wheels and tires this weekend.

37" KO2s and Method 701s. Should make for a pretty good lightweight (for 37s) combo.

It's nice being able to pack my family for travel, purchase a set of wheels and tires spur of the moment, and still have space to take everything we packed back home.
