I’m curious how it will impact the resale value of the AEV Double Cab Brutes since they’re $80k - $90k+.

Doubt Brute DC owners are happy that there will soon be similar ‘production’ vehicles on the streets.

AEV stopped offering the Brute conversion last year.

I saw that, but still see the non-Hemi DC Brutes advertised for $80k-$90k.

.
The Non-Hemi trucks are going to get hit hard on the resale IMO. The Hemi versions will probably still hold value well as there will be no Hemi JT.

An article in Forbes (this week) -- seems the upcoming 2018 Ford F150 diesel will be available with these projected $$price$$ premiums:

Retail customers will be able to order the diesel in Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and Limited trims when deliveries start in the spring. Fleet buyers will be able to get the new engine in the XLT. The diesel will carry a $4,000 premium over the 2.7-liter, $2,400 more than the 3.5 and $3,000 over the 5.0-liter V8. About 5% of F-150 buyers are expected to opt for the diesel which may not sound like much until you consider that Ford is on pace to sell about 600,000 F-150s in 2017. That means about 30,000 diesels.

While Ford isn’t ready to talk about other applications for the diesel in America, it seems like a safe bet that this premium engine will also find a home in the Expedition and Lincoln Navigator. Given the popularity of the diesel option in the GMC Canyon and Chevy Colorado, a diesel Ranger also seems like a no-brainer. It also seems likely to replace the older 3.2-liter five-cylinder diesel in the full-size Transit van which itself accounted for more than 40,000 sales in 2017. Between all of those applications, topping 100,000 sales in the next few years should be pretty doable.

Now with the other thread stating the JT will intentionally be expensive and sold as life style vehicle I'm seriously looking at the new Ram 1500 instead.

The new Rebel package is super nice for Overland set up and AEV should continue their Recruit line for it as well. Even the Hemi is now a mild hybrid with 395 horsepower, 410 pound-feet of torque and a supplemental 130 pound-feet eTorque with 2,300 lbs payload and 12,750 lbs towing.

If the pricing is close to the current pricing:

You should be able to pick up a nicely loaded Rebel for 40-45K

I am in the same boat. Add on the won't be available until 2019 part and that seals the deal for me. I will be in the Ram (love the reclining rear seats), Silverado with I-6 diesel, or F-150 Powerstroke. I did not want to go with a bigger truck, but need the 6k towing ability, which rules out the JL. Rear seats are too small on the other mid-size trucks.

I'm really starting to wonder...around here, S. Cal., a nicely equipped JL Rubicon is $50k. Dealers don't seem concerned with bargaining. Let's say diesel will add $5k. Tax and registration fees for a $55k vehicle are $4,900. Maybe another $6k for the Mopar lift lift 37"s and wheels.

It's not a GM. Plus the rear axle is really crooked. (Explains the discount)

Those Dennis Dillon prices are fantastic. I wonder what kind of Power Wagon deals are being made in S. Cal. Everybody out here wants a Raptor, and Ford dealers do not have outrageous mark-ups.
