I initially had a mind bending amount of trouble with my 2021 diesel Rubicon Gladiator, but with perseverance, I finally got the exhaust particle filter replaced. Since then I’ve had no trouble.
Frankly, this is the most fantastic Jeep I have ever owned. I absolutely love the diesel. I’m afraid I have added far more parts than anyone so far has admitted to. To be honest, it would scare you. I have an Alu-Cab camper, 320 watt solar panel(soon to be replaced with a 550watt panel), bar light on camper, Midland GMRS 50 watt radio, Clayton 2.5” lift, Falcon 3.1 shocks, Falcon steering stabilizer, HD Clayton rear springs, 37” Yokohama Geolandar M/T tires, Black Rhino wheels and front shorty bumper, Warn lift, Espar Diesel Hydronic heater, 10 liter calorifier(copper water tank with copper pipe coil internally and 12vdc & 120 vac heating elements), custom(by me) Blue Sea magnetic breaker box, 2-60 psi seaflow water pumps, 2 different water sprayer outlets, Ogo motorized composting toilet, Dometic CFX Freezer/Fridge, Sterling DC-DC battery charger, Sterling 120vac battery charger, 600 amp hours of LiFePo4 batteries, Victron Solar Controller, 3000 watt sine wave inverter, custom (by me) electric side and back door openers(auto locks in closed position), Alu-cab 13 gallon water tank, Royal Dolton 6 element ceramic/carbon water filter, city water connector, siphon water inlet(for filtering from stream or bucket), electric air compressor, large first aid kit, fire making supplies, and probably more that I can’t think of. I purchased a shower cube and 270 canopy with all walls on the original camper purchase.
To be added soon, inside back door bar/cover lets down as table, custom chainsaw box on back lower door with horizontal hinged door/table for sharpening, custom small diesel tank above that for Espar hydronic heater.
This truck is used to camp in places others only pass through briefly. I have many, many trips under my belt that were longer than a month, with no restaurants or hotels involved, only staying in this camper. I have 2-3 month long trip planned next summer to reach Alaska on the ferry from Washington state, camping only on gravel bars and Boondocking the entire time.
