Swapping over to the GPEC2 PCM wouldn't be bad. You could easily find the harnesses on eBay or through salvage yards. Getting the new PCM to function on the network is probably uncharted territory, and you will need a dealer (or locksmith) for the SKIM activation. I have deeply explored the system through the WiTech software, Chrysler Diagnostic Software, and HPT. All of this to understand how to modify and swap control modules. There is a lot that can be done, but it requires an extensive amount of time to self-train. Some benchtop programmers can simplify the process, but I didn't get that far.

If you could get the entire Diesel powertrain with harness and fueling components, I don't think that swap would be all that hard. The most challenging would be the module work. Mechanically, the Gladiator is super easy to swap hardware on. I wish the electronics were more accessible.

I remember swapping a manual transmission into an Audi S8 and having to decode and recode the ECU, I thought that was hard but I found the Jeep to be substantially harder. If you decide to do a powertrain or PCM swap, I am happy to share my experiences, learning lessons, etc. Just hit me up on DM.

I applaud your vigor to repower your rig.
Thank you for the offer
Judging from your statement, I'd identify you as one of the smart guys
I have long taken the advice from smart guys
If you wanna land aft wheel on a mountain top or a 50-knot crosswind, then I'm your man. But delving into the complexities of the electronic morass is not my cup o' tea.
I can afford it, so either a simple pull-out and swap or I send it to a shop and stroke the check is how I really see this unfolding.

The 6.6 LTx kit is $29k or $36k if you ship it to them and have them install it. That was the quote I got about 3 months ago.
Which shop, may I ask?

That's the bruiser customs down near Tampa Florida
Didn't I just read somewhere that they are cooling their jets on the LS swap business for a while?

having a 3.0 in my JT makes me want to put one in my '56 willys. many of the commenters have hit all the points as to why if i repower my '56 with a diesel it wont be the ecodiesel that i love.

I had hoped the Mopar people had that eco diesel sorted by the time they re-introduced it. My friend owned a Ram 1500 with that engine. It gave him many problems over the years. I remember him limping it to the stealership on a couple or more occasions. Seems like these nagging problems are still hanging around.
I had thought most of the issues were emissions related but seems not. I know in the commercial/construction world all we have is emissions-related problems.
I have owned two brand-new compact track loaders. The only problem I have ever had is with the emissions system shutting the machine down.
I purchased a Kubota MX-6000 tractor last year. The dealer told me on delivery to just run it near wide open all the time...WHAT???
Yea, they told me if I don't the emissions equipment will fail. Well not long after that I am working close to the barn and I happen to touch the forward hydrostat pedal. Normally I'd have the tractor idling for close-in work to prevent mishaps. Well because of this S@#!$!! emissions junk I bounce off the barn tearing up good sheet metal.
Around here we delete all that useless junk but I had not on any of my machines at that point.

I did the swap back in September 2022. The swap was pretty straight forward and cost a little over $6k out the door.

I sold my 2022 gasser and bought a 2022 diesel.

I didn't know about this new engine. Never looked past the Wrangler platform. That would be a super cool swap to be sure. My summer is already framed up and will be with the V6 wheezer power. I asked to be added to the list to upgrade to a 6.2 LT with Motec, but they aren't really offering that yet. I was hoping they would have it sorted and since I'm going out west in the September, just stop by and drop it off at their shop on the way back. That is most likely where I am headed with this jeep. a low-mod 6.2 LT/10 speed with a Dana 60 rear axle and call it a day.
Heh a 6.2 LT will be epic I can't wait to see... err hear it ?

Sell your current rig (and possibly a kidney) and buy THIS. Done! LOL
Yes and, well, maybe

I could possibly sell one of my son's kidneys...They have six between them!

I haven't heard of this happening, but I wonder if anyone has.

Personally, I am totally underwhelmed with this 3.6 wheezer. By my reckoning, it has very little power.

Since I paid a lot for a new AEV JT370 that I have added a bunch of stuff to, I will be keeping the Jeep, however, it needs more power.

On the subject of the 3.6 gas engine, I think it is a poor example of what an engine of that size should be. My wife drives a Cadillac XT6 with a 3.6 gasser and a 10-speed transmission. All I can say is WOW! That car is almost quick. It offers 306HP and man does it move out. We get around 25 mpg out of it, and that car is AWD. So the weight is comparable to the Gladiator, and yet the Caddy feels great with that engine, and doesn't need anything more. By comparison, I have a darned hard time just cruising at 70mph with my lifted/37" tire/5.13 gear setup. The difference between the two is dramatic.

So, I am now planning on an engine swap. I am not all that impressed with the 6.4 hemi. It costs a lot and has about half the features of a GM LT/10-speed setup. I spoke with a gentleman who drove a 5.3 LT powered JL and he said it was quicker than his 6.4 hemi JL. So my default will be to swap up to an entire GM 6.2LT 10-speed setup and not look back...at a hefty mid $30's price tag, I'm guessing.

This brings up the question of the 3.0 eco diesel.

Surely a complete drivetrain could be had from a recently totaled unit, or it could be purchased new. The 3.0 can be tuned and would likely have all the torque that a GM 6.2 would have.

All that makes it an interesting option.
I just can't fathom why you have a problem keeping up at 70 with that setup. I have the exact same setup and I was going 90 yesterday. With no roof or doors on

I would shitcan the AEV ProCal, get a Taser to setup your tire and gear ratios first, and let the computer learn it before you start thinking crazy

Also, if you're going to go through with an engine swap, go with the gasser V8, the EcoDiesel is fairly problematic from the factory; I couldn't imagine how it's temperament would be in a swap situation

i have both 3.0 and 3.6. most parts are interchangable. i would take off the upgrade you have to the gasser and buy a 3.0.

Could you elaborate on this please? Are you suggesting there is some tuning that can be done with this 5-series computer system? Or is that something to do with this AEV calibration is out of whack?
