If you are going to endure the time and expense, put a better diesel in it.

Concur-Wow... someone just stole that Hellcat Demon-swapped Gladiator on BAT for $117k! The seller claims he had over $200k in it. Well bought!!!
AMW 4x4 HEMI conversion is probably the better route. You could put a 392 or 426 HEMI and still get respectable efficiency (by gladiator standards).Perhaps you wouldn't, but I would
Question stands...
Anyone heard of this happening?
Well, easier said than done.If you are going to endure the time and expense, put a better diesel in it.
I'm going to go with a Chevy LTAMW 4x4 HEMI conversion is probably the better route. You could put a 392 or 426 HEMI and still get respectable efficiency (by gladiator standards).

We have hashed out the 3.0 swap. The bottom line is it is difficult and the 3.0 is not a great candidate for the expense.
4B? No, getting it to work with our electronics??? Not going to happen
2.8 Cummins? Too small, hasn't been done.
I'd want to know about a Mercedes diesel, but that too, can't be done,
So,
which "better" diesel were you refereeing to?
I am kind of looking at Bruiser with that 6.6L Lt Chevy/8-speed. I am a bit busy at the moment selling off my farm and everything on it...like every day/all day, but when I'm done, in the summer, I think I want to drive down and look them over and discuss having them do my swap...Bruiser conversions was at jeep beach. Had a ton of swaps out there that looked and sounded great. Also noticed that low-key a lot of the prominent manufacturers of off road parts truck's were bruiser conversions which made me think the system is probably pretty well made if these companies where money is no object are running them.
I know that motor. It is a 2.8, not a 3.8. It is a bit too skinny for a 5,000 lb Gladiator IMO. If they had a 3.8L TD, well, that may be worth looking into. I own diesels and I love their power. I think a smaller/lighter TJ or CJ or something like that would be a good candidate or an FJ40, but not this truck of ours. 360 ft/lbs...https://www.cummins.com/engines/repower
This one for example, the Cummins 3.8. It’s not more powerful than the Jeep 3.6 but it will likely last far longer and isn’t a trap with the emissions baggage. Swap information available and well as integration guide.
Looks like you have larger tires. What sort of mileage are you experiencing?as someone driving a swapped 6.4L JT for 2.5 years now I will just add that dated or not it’s a great fit for the truck and plenty of power with very easy serviceability and good MPGs (that really depends on your tire size). I’d just go with whatever your local shop offers
