Don't get me wrong the C.R.A.W.L control is badass.
But.....
A. Was the truck buried all the way to the frame? That was not sand it was more like crushed aggregate.
B. I can't believe that it would work in a similar situation in snow. You'd have to put something under the tires IMO.
Any opinions on that?
I can't speak for the one in the video - only my own experience. Had ours down to the frame on one side and almost there on the other in a wet combination of mixed silt and fine decomposed granite (lake bed). Engaged crawl control at the second lowest speed and let it work its magic. I didn't actually think it was going to get out as it took a few minutes and it seemed like it was just turning the wheels to no avail. But then, as if by magic, it somehow found enough traction and pulled itself out. Was thinking I'd need to call a friend to come pull us out but didn't end up needing to.

I never got ours stuck in snow so don't know how or whether it would work in snow. Deep snow is tricky stuff and it is certainly possible that it wouldn't get you out of that. Same thing with really soupy or thick clay mud.

If its a straight line under the Jeep it's Ascent and Descent Control. If it is angled it's Descent control only.
All you need to do is steer and shift gears in manual mode. .6 MPH speed increment per shift.
If you have a Mojave, look at your OFF ROAD PLUS button. Now that's some sweetness right there!
Rear Lockers in 4 HI, and custom shift points to keep you in the power curve. (For high speed off roading)
It works great on a steep downhill.

We've been asked to pull a parade float. This would be perfect for that job, but I'm thinking using 4 Low on dry pavement is probably not optimal.

I've used it. It painfully slow. I understand that what it's supposed to do and it does it's job very well, but Most times I just work the brake myself.
You can adjust the speed settings.

No, I've never used it on my JT.

I used something called "hill decent" on a previous Super Duty, but this Jeep one works on flat ground as someone mentioned. And on uphill grades too.
It is perfect for EOTW situations where you can set it and forget it. Then climb in the bed and operate your 50 cal, stinger, or TOW missile launcher while the truck keeps moving.
Or just climb in back and grab another beer and burrito.
Wait, what? You know what a TOW is? Nice!
Of course now we’ve gotten rid of them and moved on to the SABER system. But still blowing up enemy tanks regardless.
