You only need to have reflectors visible from directly behind so they should suffice assuming they're appropriately reflective.
Referring to the stock reflectors. Yes - I know, directly behind. Like side position markers, they are supposed to be visible only from the direction they are on - you are not supposed to see side lights from ahead or behind, or rear lights or reflectors from the side and so on. Been the law for many decades. Even more strict in Europe.

Assuming the reflectors with the better "backup lights" were quality, I'd expect them to be as "good" as the originals, such as those are.
Who knows, they may be better than the stock reflectors.

I would buy either one of the price is right. It’s still a great improvement...
I'm VERY interested in these lights - when I back down our long slanted angled driveway at night, you can't even make out the edge of the driveway on some nights. The factory "backup lights" are wimps. My SX4 lights are just as good. The JT backup lights are a poor excuse, IMO. And when backing to a trailer? HA.

I'd prefer B and a flood light pattern, if I was still looking for it, since I already have removed the refectors (I thought about mounting lights on reflectors) and installed aux lights, using a aux switch,
Plug and play with factory wiring to stay within DOT for most. It's bad enough with all the people who don't know what the dimmer switch is on top of having incorrect adjusted lights blinding everyone Of course that's no one here. ;)

I had a few more things said at first then I edited it off before posting it about lights and drivers :like:

I'd be in for B. How hard would it be to wire them to come on automatically with the backup lights but also be switchable?

The Tazer mini allows you to set it so the license plate light turns off when shifted into reverse.
Will the Jscan app do this also? I hate how that light washes out the backup camera.
The automatic blanking of license plate lights on Gladiators when in reverse is a Taser Live Function. Taser must be plugged in for this function, it is not a programmed vehicle setting, so I am assuming Jscan does not have the ability to blank out the license plate lights.

If B was made and it came with a harness as well to T into the brake lights, that would be awesome and something I would be all over! Plug and play without splicing unless you chose to run a switch is the way to go.

If Oracle doesn't do one, I would be interested in building a mostly plug-and-play harness (assuming the connectors aren't keyed) but I'll need a lot of buy-in... damn terminals are only available by the reel of 4k. The harness would be universal and you'd just need to crimp and seal two wires a side.

Hoping you don't take offense - as I have NO IDEA of the tools and equipment you have on hand, but - assuming you have the tools for a true sealed connection? (with the $200+ tool, not like using a $25 parts store tool)
Again, have no idea of how well equipped you are on these things - gotta ask.

(LOL - and if you do have those correct crimp tools - boy do I have some wiring needs.
I've never invested in them yet - too many variables and my needs cover terminals not easy to find and near impossible to set correctly without the right tools.)

These are mat sealed connectors so it's not as particular as WeatherPak and those which use the cable-sealed systems. Unfortunately OCS 1.5 is not an easy one to get the specific tools for and if I were to buy those, the harnesses would be damn near $100.

I've done a few custom harnesses for the interior without issue (like a custom 4x40A aux switch setup) using somewhat generic tools but nobody carries the larger gauge terminals needed for lighting.

I do have the actual official tools for Apex 2.8 and Molex MX150 though if your needs aren't Gladiator-specific... those are the two I've used in the past for wiring up boats and project cars for people. IMO Apex 2.8 is the best solution on the market because they're mat sealed and can handle up to 40A on 10awg without issue.
