The quoted info is direct from Oracle customer service regarding the BCM shutting down. Perhaps it is only some LED models, perhaps only something with TAZER but either way they (and my experience) say it doesn't always work. Just something to be aware of for those considering purchase. I would say go 7-pin as customer service "guarantees" this will work. Can't speak from personal experience as I've been waiting to receive it since January.
I used a Curt T harness to tap into the Reverse line of the towing circuit when I installed my KC Reverse Lights in 2019. There have been no issues with the computer doing it that way.

The Oracle Reverse Lights appear to be a good option. One of my concerns has been with the computer and the additional draw from using the harness to connect the lights to the tail light Reverse line. It seems to be an issue that only affects some installations.

I have the Oracle lights and towing adapter in the cart. I'm going to wait until the 17th to decide on ordering. In the meantime, I ordered the metal plates from eBay, and some red reflective tape and two surface mount lights from Amazon. I'm going to experiment to see if I can come up with something acceptable to replace the KC lights that mount below the bumper.

Has it impacted any FACTORY LED tail lights, or just conversions, or non-LED tail lights?
Have worked fine in both of my Overland JTs, that's why I was wondering - factory LED in both cases, no conversions.

The Oracle reverse lights have been problem free for me for a little over a year.
Same here and I was in the original bulk purchase group. Had wire length issues along with many others, but they fixed that and I love those lights. I’ve had them installed since July 2021. The Oracle JT backup lights are fine. I have the LED taillights with safety sensor package.

I have had the Oracle bumper lights as well as the flush mount taillights. My backup lights are bright AF. Both from what I can see and from reports from people behind me. It has taken care of 90% of the tag light issue. I've had no issues with either of these Oracle products.

I have the Oracle backup lights to, my truck is all Halogen, so to avoid any problems that others have had I wired it in to the trailer harness. Easy and works great.

Had my Oracle reverse lights since they first came out with no problems.
I did change the way they are wired.
I now have them tied to the lights in my bed. Quick and easy hookup, plus you have the switch in the dash from the factory.
Any type of lights can be used. You don't have to spend a lot of money.

I have the Oracles as well.......almost 2 years now and stack them with the Oracle LED tail lights.........all the light you need to back up safely at night. NOTE: I ordered mine with the Plug in play harness.

I get into my JLUR and feel like there is no reverse lights in it compared to my JTM

Since its mainly the wifey's DD I want to keep it stock'ish in appearance.

I will probably order the Oracle LED flush mounts and call it good. It will be my son's here in a few years

I went the cheap route. I bought the reflector delete plates off ebay, and some reflector tape and rock lights from Amazon. I reinstalled the wiring for the KC lights, and put Deutsch connectors on the rock lights to plug them in. I may reinstall the KC lights and connect them to an Aux switch. I'll have to see about it when I run the cabling to install the rear battery.

There are two pictures of the backup camera. One with just the factory LED reverse lights, and one with the extra lights plugged in.

I'm late to the party, but I installed the Oracle reverse lights in the bumper in my '22 JTO. I used the plug'n'play harness. The install was pretty simple and uneventful. Hopefully they'll be solid performers.

I’ve had mine on for 14 months. No issues at all so far.

I have the Oracle lights with the plug and play harness - that being said I really like your DIY solution as well. The only change I have planned so far is I am going to add a relay so that I can turn the Oracle lights on when not in reverse so that I can have lighting behind the truck when it is stationary (hooking up a trailer, when working, etc.)
