OK so I know I am asking a question that prob gets asked alot but most of threads were from a couple years back and I'm figuring there might be more feedback about this subject. I am preparing for a new wheel setup KMC Grenade beadlock with Kenda 37" hybrid tires. What should I expect I know this isnt the most economical setup, but I plan on using it first and foremost as a daily driver and the occasional overlanding and possible some light off roading. My JT is a Sport with mopar 2.5 inch lift and stock gears which eventually I will change down the road. I am also kicking around the idea of changing the axles eventually. Ill end up keeping this jeep for a long time and passing it down to my sons eventually and doing some off road tuning with it in the future. I just want to know what to expect on the ride quality and gas milage and is it really unsafe to daily drive on beadlocks? I live in Ohio I am pretty sure there arent any laws prohibiting beadlocks.

good choice. I’ve had these on for about 3 weeks now. Lift just got here so it’ll be going on soon. Just keep checking the torque on the bolts for your first few drives. I had some movement but only on a couple of bolts.

Also my fuel mileage went down a bit but it’s expected with 37’s. Ride is just about the same. I’m running nitto trail grapplers

My biggest consideration was ease of having tires installed. Many tire shops/dealers wont touch beadlocks because of DOT regs. The AEV borah wheel allows you to have the tire mounted in a regular bead configuration or beadlock. I'm going to run the wheel as a beadlock but if something happens out on a trip and a tire ship will only mount it as a regular beaded rim I have that option with the borah wheels.

I went with the icon rebound pros. My Jeep was being driven by my gf for work and I didn’t want rings coming loose. Also I’ve had Beadlock wheels snap bolts on the rings off-roading.

These use a pin to pinch the inner outside bead to the rim. I’ve run down to 3psi and no issues. Discount or americas tire will mount them.

I had some orings leak the first tire set due to them over tightening the bolts. Second go around I gave the tire shop some orings to replace the old ones.

They balance easy easy to maintain and work very well. Cheap to at 260/wheel.

Hm, I must have gotten unlucky with my local America’s Tire, several techs and a manager conferred for a few minutes but in the end sent me home and wouldn’t touch them. Exposed bolt heads = beadlocks as far as I could tell about their thinking. Despite me pointing out that they literally sell the same wheels

Bought mine through them and they mounted and balanced them just fine twice. All good. Try another store.

I've got 10k miles and about 1 year on 315 KM3s mounted on a set of AEV Borah with no issues.

I started out checking the torque on the rings every weekend then backed off to once a month and now every few months as I have not found any loose bolts.

I have grenades and 40's on mine and I have daily driven it. Like above most tire shops won't touch beadlocks. I mounted them myself and used about 8 oz of airsoft pellets per tire to actively balance them.

Keep checking ring torque every couple hundred miles then when I do tire rotation. As long as the rings full seat to the wheel there should be no problem with broken bolts.

If they made the rebound pros in 8x6.5" bolt pattern I would go with those instead. Method bead grip wheels are supposed to be really good also.

Thanks Mike , just with all these posts on here about daily driving with beadlocks make me feel like im making a bad choice and makes me nervous about driving about my day as usual because I have to worry about something happening with the ring. How often are you supposed to check them and is the difference in the ride considerably noticeable because of the weight of the wheels and tires. You truck looks good by the way

Thanks for the input what kind of roll bar or chase rack do you have, can you post more pics and does that work with a tonneau cover?

I went with the Raceline RT260 on mine. Only thing I do is check the torque on the ring bolts every few weeks. With beadlocks, I can do tire swaps myself. When these 37's are done, I'll put 40's on it.

Yep. Just changed my 40's from the tank beadlocks for stock axles to the grenades for the dana 60's. About 45 minutes a piece to change the beadlock wheels out.

Just to follow up, I went to a random small non-chain tire shop around me, and Sr. Gilberto had absolutely no problems mounting up Icon Pros for me. So yeah, should be no problem just about anywhere in the country
