Nitto's are a decent off road tires but there on road performance sucks and that's based on me running a few set of them about 8yrs ago. Never again will a Nitto tire be on anything I drive. There definitely not the best off road tires either, Geolanders are far superior to a Nitto and ride better on the road, still they aren't stellar on the road, but definitely better than a Nitto.?? Just curious what this comment is based on? Sure seems to be a lot of folks recommending Nittos, and a lot of hardcore offroaders consider them to be the best. I'm a BFG guy all the way for Jeeps (have been since the 90s) but I currently love General/Continental for passenger car tires.
How's the sound on the road with the ultrterrains. I had Goodyear MTRs before getting the Kanati's and they were pretty darn loud compared to BFG KO2s and these Kanati's. Everyone said they were as quiet as most A/T's but that was totally false info from my experience. I can listen to the radio at 8 to 10 with the Kanati's and when I had the BFGs but those Goodyear MTRs had me at 16+ depending on the speed. Plus the ride quality wasn't as good either from my experience. Mine on the Goodyear MTRs for reference.I’m a fan of Goodyear tires. OG MTRs are what started it.
I’m running GY Ultraterrain, but not much time with them yet.
They are freaking loud too. Guy that lives down the road has Nittos. I can hear him coming long before he passes. Yep, 100% correct, super loud. Definitely not a daily driver tire for sure unless you like yelling to have a conversation and like getting about 30,000 to 35,000 miles out of a tire. They are freaking loud too. Guy that lives down the road has Nittos. I can hear him coming long before he passes. Lol
This is the correct answer to the thread.BFG AT in 315/70/17 can be had in C range.
Can't say enough about the Goodyear Wrangler Ultraterrains I just got from Discount Tire Direct. You can find them here: Goodyear Wrangler UltraTerrain AT | Discount Tire They replaced a set of Mickey Thompson Baja Boss ATZ's and they're SO MUCH QUIETER and smoother a ride. Now, the Mickeys were old and worn down but I think they were loud when they were new... these are like butter in comparison. I only have about 500 miles on them so far and haven't been off road yet but I will be next month for Whitetail season in PA and will report back on off road abilities. In the attached pic they're mounted on a set of (dirty) ProComp 05 Series Flat Black 17x9 wheels.Hey all
I'm in the market for new tires 35"
looking for AT but still pretty aggressive very important:
1) not too heavy
2) not noisy
3) reliable
BTW I'm going with new wheels KMC XD137

What the bumper you are running? Your JT a diesel?I'll say BFG KO2s are probably number 1 for me but so far the Kanati Trail Hogs are a very close second. If they last as long as the BFGs do or are even close it will definitely make choosing my next set challenging. Especially since they are about $600 less than the BFGs for a set of 4.
Both check off all boxes
Kanati Trail Hogs in 37 12.5 17

No, it's not a diesel, it's a Max Tow Sport. The bumper is a Rugged Ridge Spartan High clearance Bumper. What the bumper you are running? Your JT a diesel?
