I have the AmFib style snorkel. I didn't get the brand name version and it did not come with a drain tube and valve for the air box. So what I did, based on my boating knowledge from living in FL for 26, was to seal up the holes with RTV and XMas tree plugs. Then, instead of doing a drain plug with tube and valve to open and close, I used a floating ball scupper drain on the lowest point. So, haven't done any deep water crossing yet, but if the water level were to rise to the bottom of the air box, the ball will float up and seal the box. I figured this was the best solution, as most of the time it will allow water to drain out (if any ingested from rain or say a careless car wash session).
Can you take a couple of pictures of your set up?

Not sure I can get a pic of the bottom of my air box easily. I gotta start trying to take more pics when I'm installing something. Here's a link to the scupper I used:

Depending how deep the crossing is but a water Bra's can keep the water out of the fans.

I am seriously considering shipping my Gladiator to Iceland next year spending a month or so driving some of the more epic F roads. In reading about it it’s obvious that there will be many, many river crossings and some of them could be deep (and potentially not crossable depending on the weather etc.).
So I want to build up the JT to handle these crossings as best as possible.

What snorkel would provide the best air box protection and what if any modifications would I need to do to the box to accomplish my task.

Im already planning on extending my dif breather tubes.

Thanks!
I'm all about the ARB, but then I'm Diesel!!!!

@smlobx The girlfriend and I were in Iceland this past may for 2 weeks exploring in a 4x Diesel Van, we went at the end of may for my birthday which meant we could not make about 60%+ of the F roads, I would suggest waiting until August if you want to make sure all of the high roads are open. It was a trip neither of us will ever forget that's for sure!

here is the link to the interactive road map, incredibly handy as you will see

plus a picture I took on a hike we did. :)
