Let me know how you like it. I“m installing an AEV lift tomorrow and I have a 5100 steering stabilizer that I had on my Wrangler for a very short time before going to a Fox adjustable. I may throw the Bilstein on the Gladiator. In fact, I“m pretty sure I“m going to do that. Like you, I am running 35“s.Posting a link here to my build thread where I describe installation and a small challenge with the OEM carriage bolt and how to overcome it in case anyone else runs into this issue.
Yeah, I like the tighter steering feel. Will have to drive for a bit on some varied roads to see if it helps with the slight feedback I noticed on the OEM version. I also plan to upgrade the shocks to Bilsteins too as the OEM shocks are just too soft/body rolling for me. Probably gonna go with the 5100's for 0-1.5" lift versions pretty soon.Let me know how you like it. Yep, my AEV 2.5 lift will have the 5100“s with AEV tuning, which is probably nearly no difference. I am looking forward to the more firm ride. Mine is pretty mushy right now since I put the 35“s on, which are a heavier than average tire. Between the AEV springs and the Bilstein shocks, it will most definitely firm it up a bit.Yeah, I like the tighter steering feel. I wonder why that is. The OEM does not pull the wheel, and it is nothing more than a shock, too, but a cheaper one than the Bilstein. But if I remember correctly, mine did, too, for the brief time I had it on there.Iāve had it close to 2 years now. Itāll pull the wheel as itās just a glorified shock always trying to extend. Iām sure it helps with bump steer and tightness, but itās def not the best solution.
it helps, but it doesnāt fix it.If your steering is pulling after a new stabilizer install there is a process to perform after installation.
Crank the engine
Turn steering wheel to full lock to the left, then to the right.
Do this full lock turn at least five times.
You should have no steering pull afterwards.
