Building my own flush tail lights

I might not know what I'm talking about... but I would think there would be sheets of lens material that would be easier to cut than to 3d print... would lenticular sheet work or could there be something similar?

There's definitely plenty of sheets I can buy to make work....

However that requires me cutting it precisely, and then heating it and molding it correctly. Which I would be perfectly fine building a vacuum former , heating and molding.... But I don't care to do all the cutting over and over again to sell them.... Way too time consuming....

I'm sure it could be. I have a laser engraver, I'll research and see if it is strong enough to cut acrylic.

Little update.... No pictures yet

While thinking about what to do with the lens, I was going to purchase a new laser that could cut them.... I was going to do this because I was thinking 3mm thick lens should be pretty flexible... Even though it's supposed to be a curved lens I could easily cut it flat and bend it to shape......


Then it hit me... I'm such a dumb a**

I could do the same thing with the 3d printer lol....

This method leaves me using little material, and using no supports... And everything comes out perfectly...

However I have to redesign and get my measurements perfect...

So that's what I have been doing lately.... I'm almost there but the lens still isn't fitting perfect yet... Hopefully have it perfected tonight ...

Once you get the design down would it be worth adding in some tabs to the lens to lock it into the housing so it doesn't solely need to rely on silicone?

How you haven't petitioned your city to repaint the hydrant in HVY, is beyond me. Just a few shades and you've got a HVY hydrant to match your JT
