Agree just sell it. Not that it matters you'll take a hit. New cars lose ton of value, someone will now get a deal on nearly new jeep.sell it and be done with it. No biggie
Meh. It is what it is. But this is far from the worst…. “A lot” of European cars take a significant hit. Check out a Porsche Cayenne GTS, Mercedes GLE AMG, Audi SQ8…. Most of these take 30-40% hits within a couple years tooThese have to be one of the worst vehicles for depreciation out there right now. They are really, really bad. I mean, I have never heard of a vehicle losing 36% of msrp after 2 months.
I trust this number for wholesale. Does anybody know the best indicator for retail pricing? Edmonds and KBB are the only two I've looked up. I have title in hand, so it is an easy sale for a private party. I'm just curious as to what I should list it for.MMR is $43k.
Manheim says your estimated retail value is $48,500. This is based on Cox Automotive retail transactions.I trust this number for wholesale. Does anybody know the best indicator for retail pricing? One of my thoughts is it might be better to hold off until almost all of the 2023 models are sold, maybe a couple months or something. I have not been driving it lately as I don't want to put miles on it. The truck is in showroom floor condition without a single scratch, blemish or ding, and I want to keep it that way.
That is a gamble that may not pay off. The vehicle is depreciating every month regardless. One of my thoughts is it might be better to hold off until almost all of the 2023 models are sold, maybe a couple months or something.
All valid points. I guess it comes down to how much of a loss I'd be willing to accept to unload it right now. I may keep it a few years and drive it. If I could undo the purchase I would, but c'est la vie. That is a gamble that may not pay off. The vehicle is depreciating every month regardless.
Even with title in hand, it is going to be a slog to get it over the fence sold selling private party. Something that expensive and new is a pain for buyers unless they have the cash reserves in hand already. Most people are going to have to secure their own financing and that is where a dealership is going to shine on something like this.
Dithering now in the hopes the market is something later can put you behind the eight ball. Nothing is stopping you putting it on the market now and see what offers that may come in. You do not have to accept anything you do not like, but it may give you insight into what you will have to put up with later even if you choose to sell later.
Glad to hear. Enjoy it for what it is.UPDATE: I have decided to drive it for a year and revisit the purchase at the 1 year anniversary.
Looking at your signature "Rairdon's suck", I tend to agree. I live in B'ham for 5 years and bought two Jeeps from them. Was not super impressed by their service department. Not sure if I commented on this before. Beautiful place to live but does it rain!!!!Congratulations. Nevertheless, that doesn't make Gladiator an expensive vehicle to insure.
Y'all are not alone! I'm on my 3rd Gladiator already. 5 or 6 Wranglers previously! Are we twins?
I need to make sure my wife reads your post. I’m glad that I’m not the only one ?
