Oh man I have wanted to go to Gallagher Head lake for over 10 years!! Van Eeps too. Some cool things up there from what I have seen in some friends pics. Not a lot of mild/medium off road trails in Washington though which is a shame.

I'm hoping to get a few folks in on a trip through Naches before it becomes strictly buggies level. It's a shame more of the historical routes have been closed :-(

Good morning,

I am actually in SW Washington, about 30 miles north of Vancouver. I hav not found a thread other than the Northwest title just past the forum page.

I tried Carmax and their offer was $40,600. Yeah, NOPE. I think I'll be driving it for a while, haha. The insurance thing just makes me sick to my stomach. I checked BEFORE I bought, and then they slam me with this rate hike. Just disgusting.
You might not like that $40K offer but it is pretty much close to reality right now with new 2023 Rubicons still to be had in the mid 40's after incentives.

These have to be one of the worst vehicles for depreciation out there right now. They are really, really bad. I mean, I have never heard of a vehicle losing 36% of msrp after 2 months.

Thank you. I don't know where or how to even find that, or if it's industry insider info only. That being said, I think the best idea for me is to stop driving it and then see about selling it private party in Tahoe after the 2023 models are gone off the lots. Nevada residents don't pay sales tax on used vehicles so somebody will want it. If Kelley Blue Book private party value is anywhere in the vicinity, I could get a decent price and unload it.

It is a market correction. I drove both my last two Gladiators for 2 years for one and 18 months for the other. Sold the first one for a $1K more than I paid and the second for even money. My current one took a $20K hit in depreciation within the first year.

No free lunch and anybody that has bought one recently with today's incentives and then expects to trade in shortly is going to take it in the ass.

Right, but imagine buying for almost 30% off AND taking it in the ass. That's the part that doesn't make sense.

Even in normal times, 20%-30% depreciation driving off the lot was normal.

They are not going to give you wholesale depreciation based off MSRP sticker pricing, it is going to be average market selling pricing.

Honestly, if a $40 a month insurance premium hike put you in such financial distress, you bought into too much vehicle it sounds like.

You are reading things that aren't there. It hasn't put me in "financial distress." I just see the writing on the wall. $160 per month this year, $200 next year - yeah, not doing it. I have changed my mind on this Jeep. Buyer's remorse is real and I have it. Wish I would have never purchased it.

Insurance is my largest monthly bill. I have all sorts of equipment, etc. that I am now paying through the nose for. I am actually considering selling off large amounts of it. This world has changed, and this inflation is far from over with. Insurance is dead money to me. There's no return. I want to get rid of most of it.

It's for dealers only.
