Yes, but you cannot have a tent set up on the ground. It has to be roof top or in the bed. Plus Fort Fisher is open 24 hours this time of year.

Wait... Can you camp on the ft fisher beach after October 1st!?

Actually got my front bumper for $639 (Extreme Terrain sale), but the rear wasn't on sale, so it was the full $744.

Every time I look at those 3-4 person RTT’s, I just can’t work out how body weight can be supported by the half of the tent that hangs out past the vehicle.

Do you have to take special precautions when using that sort of roof top tent?
I have a Roam tent and I had this question too. It seems the hinge helps ensure that it doesn’t over-unfold and the ladder becomes a support which is why it’s important to set it up correctly.

Another thing I found is that (at least for us) the majority of our body weight while sleeping is over the part attached to the rack while our legs and feet are on the side folded out (if that makes sense).

That makes sense. I wondered if the ladder was a support, but every time I looked at pictures it never “looked” like it was supporting anything.

Thanks!

How well does that diesel heater work, and what kind of bedding do you use?
Diesel heater works great! Keeps me warm and dry (no condensation inside the tent) through all sorts of Alaskan weather. That was version one of my "diesel heater in a box"..working on v2 now. For bedding, it depends on the forecast but still stays simple since the diesel heater does the heavy lifting. Added a thermarest for extra loft, and have a 0Âş bag in case of heater malfunction.
