Touchless are great, but in my experience won't get the vehicle totally clean. Especially the Jeep, there are too many little nooks and crannies. Having said that, I rely on one in our town to keep the crud off the jeep. Our town is aggressive about snow mitigation which is great, but puts a lot of crap on the truck, and i70 is a mess always.

I think there should be a distinction with touch-washes between the spinning brushes and the long hanging fabric. The latter do a great job and are generally what you'll find in a higher end full-service wash. Spinning brushes are what cause the issues.

But having said all that, when I first got the truck I was very committed to doing it myself or using the touchless wash. A few trips on trails quickly disabused me of worrying about that. I think getting the snow mitigation crap off the truck is way more important to the paint than the possibility of damage from the wash.
Yeah, Mr Car Wash, which I think you have in CO is the hanging material. It works great, and I've never seen scratches, but I actually use mine off road, so I just keep it waxed and don't at it closely.

I just did 15 minutes for 6 bucks to get salt and deer guts off the JT. These power wand car washes are the only ones I use, 2-3 times a year. Otherwise, 30 minutes ( quick) -90minutes (total detail) in the yard works for me.

Just place the transmission in neutral. I went through one today after mud running.

So will bushes. Car washes can be buffed out if needed, unless impressing the folks at the mall
Not if it’s hand washed by professional licensed auto detail.

I’ve got major pinstriping down both sides of mine. That’s just 4 wheeling in Appalachia even on mild trails. I’d have to use rubbing compound to get them out, although I’m not sure that would be enough. I’m not too concerned with swirl marks from a car wash that can be corrected with a little polish and wax. From a distance my Gladiator still looks good.

I’m way more concerned with getting mud cleaned out of the engine compartment and from the underside and brakes. Mud is basically liquid sandpaper.

What's wrong with impressing people at the mall?

I'm getting a little burnt-out :) Hand-Washing my gladiator after each off road trip so I am going to try-out a new car wash close to my house.

For those of you who do the car-wash, do you unscrew your antenna before going through?

Nope. Antenna is fine. No need to unscrew it. Causes no issues whatsoever. I've never removed it on any vehicle that has this style antenna and it's never been a problem. JK, JT, tj, whatever. Just run it through.

I replaced my antenna with a stubby. Best cheap upgrade I've made. IMO the wrangler and gladiator should never have a big traditional antenna. It was constantly catching on branches on trails and then whipping back and forth when coming off the branch.

So, no, I don't remove mine. I did remove the OEM one a time or two before getting the stubby.

I kinda like those stubby's too...I may do the same (in my tiny amount of experience so far I've already caught a branch or two...And I also think they look better (imo)). Do you have a recommendation/link?

Thanks,

After one trip to the car wash with the stock antenna where the antenna got grabbed by the brushes and wacked the windshield frame, I removed it and installed a stubby. Using Sirius XM I really don't need the stubby.

I got the one linked below. I'm pretty sure I just searched Amazon and this had the most good reviews. Its been fine, although I have no other stubbies to compare it to.
