I don’t think it is possible to quickly or easily remove the cats from a 3.6L JL or JT with a sawsall and or a cut off wheel, they are too high up and tight between the frame and the engine.

If you go on ebay, there are hundreds available for the Prius and none available for the Wrangler/Gladiator.

I'd be curious to hear of anyone who has lost one from a Wrangler or Gladiator.

I saw the video of when my truck got hit.

In 15 minutes they got 2 of the magnesium Carts on the rams, a JT and JLU 3.6 and my diesel. All with a Sawzall and cordless grinder. They switched blades and cut off wheels in between vehicles.

If a thief wants it bad enough no amount of cat protection will stop them.

That's because hybrids have a larger quantity of precious metals in them. This is due to the nature of the hybrid engines, and how they do not run continuously, so the engine temperature may not be as hot as a regular ICE vehicle, so they have to do more processing... at least, that's my understanding.

Yep supposedly they have a much higher quantity of the precious metals in them same as the Tundras

It's still easy. They have a grinder and a Sawzall. If it's not adamantium or that stuff star wars windows are made of its no deterrent, cut the bolt or mount and cut the cat. Takes a minute or two at the most.

They dont care about extraneous damage, they care about that quick $75-100 and some crack.

A cat thief here killed him self by dropping a prius because he thought a 1/4 would make a decent jack stand.

Catch them in the act and drop the vehicle on them. Or put a bullet in the skull. That's about the only ways you are going to stop a determined meth head.
