Cigarette Lighter Removal

Does anybody know if the panel where the cigarette lighter is can be removed and replaced with a solid blank? Is there a solid blank available? I want to add an auxiliary switch and that would be the perfect spot.

Dunno about a solid blank, but I'm sure you could make one. I put my redarc controller in there.

TewlTalk (YouTuber) installed a couple switches in that location that looked really nice. I didn’t use that location as I have the Mopar trailer brake controller in that spot. Here is the name “Unique ARB contura carling switch install” of his video for the switch install. Check it out. He does good work.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I appreciate the dimensions pics and the video link. I thought about trying to find some sort of round rocker switch to slip into the cig lighter hole, but haven't come up with anything yet. I'll keep looking.

Car Audio Fabrication did a good video on 3d printing a panel to replace the lighter and then mounting his sub amp knob.

you could always buy this and remove the rocker switch with outer ring and afix to the opening.

Just not sure of the outer ring dimensions

1-3/8" outer diameter.

how I know - I just installed that panel in my bed last night, only I swapped out the power switch with another 12V spot and wired it to my Auxbeam 6-gang switch panel.

if anyone is thinking about doing that too... you have to cut the bed to make it fit. For my next trick, I'll be mounting a solar panel on my roof rack and running power under my bed rack to charge my River power bank.

Perhaps a marine supply may have a round switch that's the right diameter.
