So I'm trying to figure out if I have the premium sound system in my 2021 Mojave. I started a speaker upgrade and in the process of running wires for a powered subwoofer, it appears I have a sub in the box behind the back seat. I previously had a JK Sahara with the premium sound and sub. The Mojave sounds NOTHING like that one did. Doesn't say much about the sound system if I didn't even realize I had a sub...

I bought it used but I was able to pull up the window sticker using the VIN on chrysler.com and it shows "Alpine Premium Audio System". Also checked the build sheet, and it shows similar. There are no badges, Alpine or otherwise, on anything. I've removed the sound bar and dash speakers, and they have no brand name markings either.

Can anyone shed any light? Thanks in advance.

I "ASSumed" there'd be "Alpine" badges...

I looked and listened for a sub, but didn't see or hear one. When I was UNDER the rear seats running the wires, I got a fresh view though a small honeycombed section of the trim and there it was...

Maybe that was my problem, my expectations were too high!
Yeah, premium is not so premium this time around. It is like they focused on one genre, and then went cheap. It is not bad, but not nearly as good as a ten year old Mazda Bose.

I have the premium and had a buzz at higher volumes in the soundbar, it was actually the housing that holds the domelight, stuffed an old towel in the soundbar and domelight housing and it now sounds great. It really made an improvement. I bet that sound mat/stuffing they sell on Amazon would be even better.

No Alpine badges, but you probably know this now.

If you've ever gone spelunking behind the panels, you'll also see that so many of the plastic parts are still stamped with the Plymouth logo, same on my '14 Cherokee Fiat, no wonder we can't find the right parts......

Sorry to rehash an old thread, but does anyone know if there is a designating letter in the VIN, or another way to determine if a unit has the Alpine without looking at the sticker? I'm shopping online, so I can't just look behind the seat. Thank you!
