Anyone out there have a suggestion for cost effective 37’s. I have ran the Ironman MT 37’s for the last 8-10,000 miles. They have been great honestly. I haven’t had them in extreme off-road or anything like that but they have been a good tire in my opinion. MT’s aren’t going to last as long on the road at that’s just part of it. These prob have 3-5,000 left on them. For the cost of them - meh no big deal. They have worn well... and seem well built. I have a semi curvy with several hills commute to work.

I’m well aware of the top brands... all great choices.

I did run the Kenda RT 35’s they are an awesome tire but they don’t make a 37.

thoughts...? I’d get the Ironman again with no complaints. I bought them from tirebuyer.com

37 12.5 17 BFG KO2s, you can expect to get about 50,000 miles out of them and they are great in pretty much every condition imaginable. My buddy just turned over 47,000 miles on his and he may be able to stretch it another 10,000 miles. I got 42,000 out of my 35's in BFG KO2s on my JKU but they probably would of lasted longer but I had some death wobble going on for a good bit of those miles and ball joint and other issues going on. The rears had a lot more life than the fronts because of this. I will never buy another brand personally. I did run a set of Ironmans for a week and they rode like pure crap and I sold them and went and got a set of KO2s again

Important thing to remember here... there's cheap to buy and cheap to own. If you pay $1k for tires that get you 30k vs $1500 for tires that get you 50k, the latter are more cost effective overall and something like a KO2 will get you a lot of miles on a truck like this.

I’d also throw in I prob won’t have this particular Jeep maybe another year or so... so I don’t really care if they last 50K. It’s not my only vehicle so I don’t put as much miles on it regardless. I’m guessing it will never reach 30,000 miles before I trade it off to a different one.

Well you said best bang for your buck and even if I was only getting 10,000 miles of use out of the truck I'd be riding on KO2s. They aren't that expensive when compared to the other brands and heck of a lot better tire than a Ironman tire I can promise you that. I guess it depends on what you plan on doing with it. You already stated you knew the Ironman wasn't going to last as long so of your not planning on keeping the JT then throw a set of those on there if you were happy with them. Me personally after running Geolanders and KO2s on my JKU and then cheaping out on a set of Ironmans I immediately regretted it and a week later I sold the Ironmans and bought another set of KO2S. It also worth noting that the guy who bought the Ironmans only got about 28,000 miles out of them so you make that call. I guess the real question is, what's your budget. I priced a set of 37's in BFG KO2s at sears where I've bought my last three sets and they had me out the door at $1411.00 mounted and balanced which included a $75 visa gift card rebate on the mounting and balance so basically you would be paying $1335.00 after the rebate.

I dont think its prudent to skimp on the only thing physically connecting you and a 5500 pound machine to the road. Tire build quality matters.

i might suggest asking about how well the tires are at cut and puncture resistance, how the carcass is made (how well it holds its shape) and how easy they are to balance using a road force balancer. A bad tire at 37 inches is enough to wear out bearings, shocks, etc etc.

i have had great luck so far on these toyos but i am not brand specific. Just gotta do some homework below price and like someone else said think about total cost to own, including safety

As someone else stated, it depends on your budget and needs for the tires. Personally, I’ve got the factory 33” Falkens for street use pulling the trailer and a set of Achilles Desert Hawk XMT 37/12.5/17’s ($260 simpletire.com) for daily use and off-roading.

Kinda like comparing the Ranger FX4 and the JTR. Ones a street vehicle with off-road capability the other is an off-roader with street compliance.

The higher priced KO2’s which are A/T’s ($370 on simple tire.com) will ride smooth on the street and last longer than a cheaper M/T but if you looking for tires for off-road that ride smooth enough for street use, the Desert Hawk XMT’s fit. (My last Jeep, I had a set of Federal Couragia 35’s and they rode rough as hell on the street)
Recent Jamboree seen some muddy conditions and a few drivers had problems with KO2’s packing mud and not clearing out very well but they are not a “Mud Terrain” tire either. My XMT’s had no problem. As a side thought, I went with cheaper off-road tires thinking $/mile might be more/less or same but if I rip a sidewall on a rock, I’ll cry less over a $250 tire than I would over a $400 tire. Lol.
Btw, I’ve got about 10k on them and show very little wear running 28psi and rotating every 5k.

Cool... not a huge fan of the look of the Patagonia. Just my opinion. Great tire non the less.

Kanati mud hogs. I had a set of 35s on my JKUR. And now I have a set of 37s on my JTM. Extremely happy with them.

I’ve heard a few people say they liked them. Looked at those as well when I bought these XMT’s. Former coworker had the trail hogs? (All terrains) on his full size truck and said they rode good and did great in the snow, didn’t get ALOT of miles out of them but he also drove his Silverado like it was a Camaro.
