Cracked windshield after 3 weeks

how did you go about convincing them to go for that?

I’m on my 3rd windshield in less than 3 months with a $0 deductible. I guess since it has an OE part number they just went with it.

Cracked windshields really piss me off. My JKUHR had 4 windshields replaced in its 3+ years of ownership. So far the ... not going to even say it.

I have learned if it is at all possible to stay away from dump trucks and any pickup or Jeep that has mud all over their tires.

These dump trucks are the worst and we have a bunch on the interstate with all of the construction going on in Nashville. Especially the trucks that have their mud flaps rolled up on their tire, or completely missing them. They should be professionals and sweep off the back of the dump bed and make sure mud flaps are back in place after loading/unloading.

I got SMACKED. I’m 2.5 months into ownership and 5,200 miles in. It happened on my way to work this morning. Nobody was directly in front of me, but there was a sedan about 5 car lengths ahead of me in the lane to my left.

Scared the hell out of me, not gonna lie lol. I even saw it coming but thought it was soft debris of some kind.

OP here. Windshield #4 spontaneously cracked this morning. Just scheduled another replacement. I requested gorilla glass in the foolish and naïve hope that it might last more than 5 months than each of my other OEM windshields. Glad i have the zero deductible replacement.

My Gorilla glass from the factory on my '22 lasted about 3 weeks before a rock chipped it and Jeep DENIED my warrantee claim with no appeal... JUNK!!!! Fortunately my Insurance paid for Gorilla replacement since it was OE after I paid my deductible. The ONLY reason I did it was to keep the Jeep original but I would NEVER pay for Gorilla glass. It's absolute shit...

Same, 3 weeks in, Good ol Gorilla Glass crack. Went round and round with dealership and Jeep "Cares" just to have them deny all. Apparently if you purchase the jeep with the Gorilla glass installed already, the warranty is not applicable even though I paid more for the Jeep with it installed, but if I install it after purchasing it then it would be. Then I would just have to argue the 1-3" crack because Corning thinks we can stop glass from cracking. Has anyone tried any protection films on their windshields? Curious if those work or are even worth.

On my 3rd windshield I believe. I try to keep one of the glass chip repair kits in my glove box and if I take a hit like I recently did pulled into a location and applied the repair. It has not spread for 3 weeks now so think I am good until the next hit. Must say every hit has been when driving in Louisiana. While here in Houston area have had no hits

If a windshield cracks at the edge with no stone chip it may be from a nick on the edge of the glass during installation. The windshield on my work truck was replaced, the next morning idling in the bay the new windshield cracked on the lower center. It was a small nick in the glass when it was installed.

On exactly my 6 month of ownership and at 8,225 miles, got my first crack. We were on the way to the course and remember a loud sound to the windshield, but no break. Played 18 holes and got back in the truck and bam, there was the crack from top to bottom right in my line of sight. You could see where the impact area was about four inches from the top.

My JT is usually in my garage and my work has a parking garage, so never really get much extended direct sunlight except at the course.
