Current '23 discounts ending 3/31/24?

In talks for a '23 diesel rubicon currently with my local dealer listed at $51k and I'm trying to get it down to $49k. Not sure if the salesman is trying to BS or not but he said, they've received corporate email stating Jeep will be ending the current '15% off msrp '23 models' discount come 3/31. Apparently, Jeep has moved enough of the '23 models already with that discount and not wanting to take any further hit.

Ending date is likely fact, end of discounts is a bluff, neither corporate or the dealer wants '23 models taking up space on the lot

He could be right that it is ending then. However, the same 15% was available in December when I bought mine, then ended in January, then came back again.

Tell him to keep it. You’ll wait for the deal you need. He does not have a unique butterfly and other deals will pop up. No dealer wants ‘23’s on the lot right now.

I’d say HUGE bluff, but probably not a “lie”. The current deal might expire at the end of the month, then likely a “new” 15% off starting for April. It’s semantics. There have been ads with end dates for months. That date comes and goes but the deals are still there.

Bought mine in November and got the same deal. Of course they told me it was about to end. Each month since then, there has been speculation that it will end. If I had to bet, it will stick around.

I would say it is a bluff and would call it. The discount ends every month and then starts again the next month. Currently some parts of the country already have 20% off. Here is a good video that shows Jeeps still have a ton of inventory to move.


Car Market Update For New & Used Vehicles

We were looking at a Wrangler in February in Oklahoma.
As an alternative, we nearly purchased another Gladiator listed as $65,970.00 MSRP for $46,180.00.
We decided not to purchase since the options were not exactly what we wanted and they were firm on 7% interest (We have excellent credit)

Just did a quick look, there are still several similarly discounted 23's on the lots.

No dealer wants ‘23’s on the lot right now.

Tell that to the dealer I visited today who offered me 15% off the MSRP then a pittance for my trade. I wasn't actually going to buy, i just wanted to test drive a diesel softtop and they just guilted me into hearing numbers. Manager got pissed off when I told him they didn't discount the jeep at all. He said "we're giving you 15% off!" i said "JEEP is giving me 15% off, you're giving me nothing and it's insulting" (dude was rude from the jump or i wouldn't have engaged on a vehicle i was never gonna buy)

They had 8 or 9 23 gladiators on the lot. Guess they're starting a collection, maybe hoping the rebate gets boosted before final payout? who knows.

Any date at the end of the month is bullshit. Especially on a discount for a vehicle that is last years model. Yeah the 15% WILL end. Why? It’s being replaced by a 10% discount.

Something you may want to consider. Chrysler may actually end all the incentives. They’ll give the dealer a credit for each 2023 unit and then the vehicles become their problem to offload. I been caught by this before.

Example, a dealer had a few 2022’s laying around, ya think they’re were any incentives for those, NOPE! Cheaper to buy a ‘23. That’s when I found out what happens to super old inventory.

A salesperson tried the same pressure tactics over the discount expiring with me 2 months ago. I bought from another dealer.

Call them back on March 29 with the same offer. If they are tight on meeting their monthly quota they will take your offer.
