I see they have front and rear in stock in 4:88. Could one of you guys who know your stuff take a look at these links and see if i buy these-

link to rear gears i want to buy

link to front gears i want to buy

1) They are correct for a Sport S (2022) without the max tow. I did get the tow package but I believe that's just a larger trans cooler and a hitch.
2) If I bought these do I need to buy anything else before I try and find a shop to put them in? (I see they have a front and rear diff rebuild kit)
3) Do you think bringing my own gears into a shop will create more problems than it's worth? I just heard Dana Spicer is the way to go and I'm not trying to do yukons unless I have to. Revolution gears seems to have decent reviews.

They are to probably run BFG 37 inch tires. I have only had one person tell me to buy 4:56 gears because my jeep is mainly a highway driver. From all the research i have done says 36 or 37 inch tires should be geared with 4:88 gears so any advice there is welcome although i know that has been done to death lol. Thanks for any help and feel free to talk to me like I'm 5.

you need a M220 rear set. The one you linked is M210 and all JTs came with M220s. front is correct tho. The rubicon, mojave and max tow also have M220s but they are widetrack i.e. longer and thicker axles tube but still the same gear set size as all other JTs, only differing in ratio. You also need a diff rebuild kit for both as the gears you links are gears only. No shims, bearings or sleeves are included. I did a Revolution gear set DIY. It was easiest as the kit came with everything front and rear. I know the Dana website says the rear fit but I'm concerned cus the specs specify M210 and thats too small. I'd call and clarify that its not a typo. Notice revolution specifies M220 for the rear and its the only option for the JT on their website.

As far as the shop, if you bring you own kit to install they may not provide you a warranty and they generally offer the gears you want anyway. As long as the shop is reputable they will tell what gears and brands are available for install. normally to accommodate differing budgets. I'd call whichever shop you have in mind and ask your question directly. Your in SoCal so you have plenty of options and fair pricing. Here on the East Coast its 4k plus for a regear rn and we have only 2-3 good shops as far as i know. 4.88 is fine for 37s, so is 4.56. Honestly depends on how heavy you run your truck. 4.56 will be better if you decide to go back to 35s if 37s aren't your jam. If you plan on towing with the 37s, gotta go 4.88 imo. hope this helps

4.88's 100% for 37's. Some would argue 5.13's. But base line seems to be 4.88's. If I ran 37's that's what I would go with.

10073110 is the M220, (rear axle), part number for 4.88 gear in the Spicer literature. I just bought 5.13, (rear 10067157), and front for my Gladiator. I also purchased Spicer Master Install Kits which I recommend. Ive used them in the past and the bearing setup has been easy. Look at Rockauto for pricing. I you go with a different manufacturer I personally would choose Revolution before Yukon. I have done several sets of Yukon and the last one in the 14-bolt I put in my JK it was a challenging gear setup.

first off you can buy these gears at any jeep, chrysler, dodge or ram dealer. they can also install and give a warranty. are you dead set on a 37" tire? pick your ultimate tire and then gears. what ratio did your jeep come with? don't know? give a jeep dealer your VIN. what was the OEM tire diameter? my rubicon came with 4.10 gears and a 33" tire. in keeping the same mathematical relationship between gear and tire i went with 4.88 for my 40" tire. math wise it should have been a 5.00 but that doesn't exist. i could have gone to a 5.13 but i don't trailer or go off road everyday. at 79 mph on the interstate in 8th gear it's spinning at 2150 rpm. average combined mpg is 15.8. how do you drive yours? any plans to change that? move to moab maybe? you will also want to invest in a tazer or j-scan to correct to correct your speedometer. this setup works perfectly for me.

(edit) Last time i checked the spicer gears were hard to find anywhere because the 4:88 batch not being produced at that time. As i understand they produce different ratios at different times)

Mine is the standard sport s setup 3:73 with i believe the bridgestone duelers that are listed at 31.5. Right now its running falken take offs from a Mojave.

That being said i would like to have a daily driver for highway that is offroad capable as possible. The reason i say BFG 37s is they actually measure a little over 35 mounted. BFG seems to run small. The falkens on my mojave are 33 that measure 31. How it runs on the highway is important. As far as correct RPMs and stress on the drivetrain. I am not concerned with tire noise, or comfort issues. I just dont want to be stressing out the transmission etc with bad gear choices for highway driving. It will never be a dedicated offroad truck as she is my work truck.
I do plan on getting the truck programmed for correct tire size and gear ratio once its done.

i like your plan of attack. if your transmission is an automatic there will never be a bad gear choice as the vehicle's electronic controls will not allow it.

I run 4.88s with 37s. I am back to thinking they are correct for 37s. I have waffled with 5.13s, but it drives great and I have zero issues, even at high altitude.

My BFG 37s and 4.88s are perfect IMO. It jumps off the line, just needs more HP above 40mph.

I see you have the Dana Spicer 4:88, did you order the gears yourself or get the shop to handle it?

I emailed Dana about the rear gears saying for a M210 axle i am waiting to hear back.

My 4.88s were supplied by and installed by Premier West Gears with the special polishing that bypasses the break in process and oil change. They really know their stuff there.

Started at 8 AM and done by noon. 2 guys. Went to their Riverside location. It's what they do there. As I recall it was just under $2K.
