Dash Cam and Mounting

I'm going to throw a Hail Mary and hope that someone has an idea here. I am looking for a dashcam setup that allows me to mount it on the dash. Specifically, I want to use the ball mount I already have. (Photo attached) This will allow me to use the windshield as intended.

I ordered a Vantue N4 that had a ball mount for the front camera. It turns out the USB power was routed from the mount through the ball to the unit. So now I'm back to square one. Does anyone have any ideas?

I use an Owlcam mounted to a 67 Designs system. Wires are tucked along the bottom of the windshield, tucked along the door to where it plugs into the OBD. No wires to be seen.

I went with the Blackvue DR900X Plus from BlackboxMyCar.com.

Looks like now they are up to the DR970X

Could you post pics of how/where you mounted it? No real life mounted pics on website. Is it just double-sided tape??? ??‍

I don’t have the black box driver assist on my Sport S, so I have more room behind the rear view. But I do have the eyebrow tint, so I’m not crazy about sticking tape to that.

Originally I was planning on getting a GoPro model that would mount to my BulletPoint Rubigrid dash mount, but mounting up high behind rear view would look better.

well apparently FedEx is now delivering on Sunday and using rental vans???? That seems sketch.

Anywhoo. Looks like next weekends plans are canceled to get this installed. I will feel MUCH better about leaving it in a parking lot with this.

Although I dont know where to mount it. Its a lot larger than expected. I am kinda wondering if either down on the bottom of the windshield or at the top on the drivers side is best. I dont think it will work well above the rear view mirror as the buttons would be hard to access….
