Cascadia Vehicle Tents (CVT) is liquidating their 2024 inventory with (no joke) nearly 90% off their tents and overlanding accessories. I called to make sure it wasn't a scam, and it's legit. Said after more than 10 years running with the same models, they're refreshing everything for 2025 and want to get rid of their stock.

I just picked up an 87" rooftop tent, interior and exterior insulation, and a 270° awning for a grand total of $735—and free shipping! The only catch is they're not offering manufacturing warranties on it, since they're redesigning the model. But a $500 name-brand tent is a risk worth taking.

I'd been waiting for Guana to restock their $2,800 72" Wanaka tent. And I was prepared to wait further to get it on sale for $2,100 during Black Friday.

Hope y'all who have been holding out can take advantage of Thanks OP. Picked up an 87" in grey. Might grab a 270 awning as well.

If you include the tailgate @sharpsicle it's ~65". It's a 5 foot bed so 60 plus the tailgate is almost 6" so around there is what I measured. Is overhang ideal? Probably not but it works as intern I suppose. Thank you @RubiNewbCB I'll take a look at that.

Tailgate shouldn't add length to your vehicle. You're not supposed to drive with it down all the time.

Use SuperStrut from Home Depot and build a simple Bed Rail kit or rack. The blue endcaps are from Lowes. Home Depots SuperStrut has magnetic connectors the will hold in place while you're adjusting and tightening everything up.

Don't trust this stuff. The metalurgical breakdown is incorrect and its load value is far under stated value. Ran testing in our lab to use this for load testing applications on light end material since it's cheap and we could easily pick it up pretty much anywhere. It bows around 240 pounds and permanently bends around 600 pounds. Mind you this is on a moving vehicle so values trusted should be cut in half as it's an unsprung weight. It might have worked for you, but it's a disaster weighting (sorry) to happen.

Gotcha. From when I built my setup, I can tell you the usable length there is about 63" - 64".
60.3" inside of the bed while tailgate is closed, ~63.2" including length of tailgate. The large tent here will extend through most of the rear seat door section.

I snagged the 270 awning and the Large Pioneer tent with extended rainfly for under $600. However, the next morning I had buyers remorse on the RTT so I called and canceled the order. I already have an iKamper so the purchase was strictly impulse haha. Plus, I did some research on the tent and it’s an extremely bulky soft shell. It’s a good beginner RTT at that price point. Congrats to everyone who got to snag a deal when it was available.

I have an XL on order that I’d be willing to sell at cost + a bottle of jack. Don’t have an appetite for a rack that costs more than the tent cost me.

Got the Pioneer Tan - L - 72” too but for $800, still not a bad deal but that’s a little over a foot of overhang with a half-rack. Not sure if I can shell out another $1k for a full-size rack but Facebook Marketplace always has someone willing to part ways for maybe half the price. I’d check there.
You could always mount it wide. It will overhang but it'll be within the width of the rear fenders by about 1.5". Just realize this would cover up your tailgate when the tent is open.

I ended up buying the 270 awning in tan yesterday, and went back to get the 99" tan awning + annex today. The large or XL RTT is too unwieldly and oversized for this. Even the 99" awning is going to be a bit awkward until I settle on how to mount it on one side opposite the 270.
