Maybe for the first times you pull the trigger… As the operations director for a firearms manufacturer for 7 years I feel confident in that statement. We did have fun building some hi points out though for the hell of it.Ha ha.... I get it... but the fact is, Hi-Point is just as reliable as most major brands.... cheap as hell , basically carring a brick- yes... but reliable... but that's to be expected from a direct blowback pistol. So if the tires prove to be just as reliable, its a great deal.
That escalated quickly lolSo tempting. Wondering if I could ruin those with my 3.73 being that they are narrower that 12.5s.
Do these fit in the spare well?
Just bought 5
My Kendas went on my JK and they took some weights, but Discount Tire used Hunter Road Force balancers and nailed them on the first try. They've got about 3200 miles on them now and are still smooth as silk, and quiet. And they handled Moab as well as any tire I've had. Better on the slickrock than the KO2's and they didn't chunk as much.I grabbed a set of Kenda's 315/70R17's when that deal ran and I've wondered about the narrower 35's or 35-metric'ish tires. So, I'm interested in trying these for an extra set. However, my last Kenda set took a lot of weights for them to balance (or that's what I was told) and I had them rebalanced once within 7.5K miles and maybe this is just what someone needs to do with larger tires. Anyways, I went to YouTube to check on Venom user experience videos and this guy is for sure not happy with his Venom experience. I understand that any product can have some issues, but I did want to share with you all if I'd help and welcome any contrasting views.
Truly, I'd like a set of 35's that are narrower than 12.5', but I'd hope to get a bit more information before I pull the trigger.
Good to know. I had mine mounted and balanced at Walmart. At they time I think they offered for $14 a wheel and road hazard was an extra $10, since they were purchased from Walmart Org. So, I figured it was cheap insurance. Plus, they offered lifetime rebalancing. Perhaps, I should ask around to determine if there is a better Walmart tire service in my area should I want to get them balanced again. My Kendas went on my JK and they took some weights, but Discount Tire used Hunter Road Force balancers and nailed them on the first try. When I get my lift, my 2nd set of Kendas from that deal will go on the JT. Can't wait! They ride really well on the JK, too, which has a fairly stiff AEV lift/shocks.
I sent many a message back and forth with a guy on Reddit running 35s with the 3.73 (specifically the manual transmission like me). Basically, the width doesn't affect it as much as the overall height, which is what effectively changes your gearing. So tempting. Umm, no it is not. I would not trust a Hi-Point to be used as a boat anchor., Hi-Point is just as reliable as most major brands.
Agree to disagree on reliability I guess... my experience has been different, along with many others if you do a quick search...Maybe for the first times you pull the trigger… As the operations director for a firearms manufacturer for 7 years I feel confident in that statement. I’ll say this though, the hi point you have is better than the Glock you don’t. Same could probably be said for these A/Ts. ?
Your opinion or can you point to facts ?... I don't own one, wouldn't own one, I dont like them... but that has nothing to do with reliability.Umm, no it is not. I would not trust a Hi-Point to be used as a boat anchor.

I'm probably going to resell. I may look to see if the shop that did Muy YJ gears four years ago is still in business. I paid less than $700 for both axles 4.88s, including Detroit TrueTracs front and back and super 35 ready axle shafts.I sent many a message back and forth with a guy on Reddit running 35s with the 3.73 (specifically the manual transmission like me). There's a chance, depending on speeds, that you won't see 8th gear anymore, some people claim they have a hard time seeing 7th with 35s.
In the manual transmission I rarely use 6th gear anyway, and with 35s I probably wont touch 6th unless I'm going 80 (which I never do anyway).
I had a JLU SportS (manual 3.73 gears) and now have a Gladiator Rubicon (manual 4.10 gears). I had the same tires (35s) on the JLU and while the 4.10 gearing is noticeably better, I still can't use 6th gear for the majority of my driving. I'm seriously considering 5.13 gears. I just need to make sure what the top speed will be in sixth gear at 3k rpm.I sent many a message back and forth with a guy on Reddit running 35s with the 3.73 (specifically the manual transmission like me).
