I thought Tazer didn't leave a footprint.
I was told that anything plugged into the OBDII port shows up as something. I’m not willing to take that chance on my new vehicle.

how did you document your maintenance ?
For my purposes, it was simply saving receipts for fluids/filters/brake pads, etc and logging mileage for those services.

When it came to maintenance schedule items I wouldn’t do myself, either the dealer or another mechanic would do it. In either case, I would maintain my own log with paperwork from those services.

For me, it’s mostly just a way to ensure I’m not stuck using conventional motor oil just because the dealer “needs to do it”, or because it’s just a complimentary service.

You can do your own oil change. Save the receipt. As soon as they scan your computer for any warranty work and see where the Taser WAS (even if you unmarried it) there, they will refuse it and void all warranty on components governed by the ECU (engine, trans, anything electrical, etc.)
My dealership would be mad if I didn't use a Tazer and the odometer was counting miles wrong. I had my JLU in the shop for two weeks for warranty work 10 months ago because of an ESS failure and they never once mentioned the Tazer.

how did you document your maintenance ?
I keep the receipts from my oil/filter purchases, and write the odometer reading and date on the receipt. It then all gets kept in the glove box.

I know this wasn’t asked of me but I thought i’d Chime in with what I do..

On every vehicle I own I get a 2” three ring binder and keep every piece of documentation in it including dealer visits and receipts of oil etc. that I buy for the vehicle.
I also keep a spreadsheet with the date and mileage of the common maintenance items I do myself.

When I sell my vehicle I advertise that I have all the maintenance records since Day One which helps me get the best price for my sale.

This is a fairly common practice in the high end auto market (i.e. Porsche etc.) and can be worth thousands on the back end of the sale.

I looked for hours online trying to figure out if changing my own oil would void my JKUR warranty. I read all the paperwork that came with it and couldn't find anything that talked about who has to change the oil. I just ended up changing my own oil as it's extremely easy to do with JKs and I got a damn good sale last time I went to buy oil/filters.

You can have your oil changed wherever you want or do it yourself and it will not void your warranty. Any dealer that tells you otherwise is lying. This was a problem some years ago with dealers telling people that so they could make more money off their customers but it is not true. Use quality oil and filters, follow the instructions in the Owner's Manual, and document your maintenance and you shouldn't have any problems. Now if you start using the wrong oil viscosity or try and go 30k miles between changes and you will probably be responsible for any damage resulting from those choices.

Do they sell gas? The fuel economy would be amazing!

Taser mini doesn't plug into the OBD2 port
I thought they did. I don’t know.

I know that the one for the Challenger Hellcat adds a second OBD port in the trunk.

just a matter if you have a dealership you can half way trust, I do my own work, save receipts from oil,etc I purchase and write down in a light what and when I did it. no issues on warranty
